Feeling angry and stressed out? Got an urge to destroy things? Vent your frustrations at Singapore’s first rage room in Balestier: The Fragment Room
Have you got an appetite for destruction (no, we don’t mean the Guns N’ Roses album)? Get this: Now you can pulverise a whole bunch of things in a room as a way to relieve your stress. How? Because Singapore is getting its very first ‘rage room’, and it’s smashing – literally. Enter: The Fragment Room.
We just came out of the rage cave, and boy, did we break loads of stuff, including wine glasses, bottles, plates and bowls. There were two types of bats to choose from (wood and metal), and it’s safe to say we spent a good half an hour with a killer playlist while making sure every available piece was smashed to smithereens. Stress-relieving and fun it was; you’ll be walking out of the Fragment Room feeling super satisfied.
‘Anger’ rooms are all the rage right now (sorry, we just had to), with some popping up in countries like the States, Russia, Canada and Australia. Catching up with the trend, and providing hotheads in Singapore a platform to blow off steam, is The Fragment Room. The sessions provided act as therapy for you, and your equally stressed friends, to release your frustration and vent the anger you usually hold in.
Open to people over the age of 18, there are three packages to choose from – the Single, Double and Annihilation – starting from $38. Each session provides you with a room and your preferred playlist – along with safety gear, breakable items such as plates, cups and vases, electronics like TVs and radio sets, or something of your own (or your ex’s, perhaps?) – and then it’s up to you to smash everything to smithereens. You don’t even have to worry about cleaning up afterwards! (P.S. In case you’re worried about the environment, not to worry; the broken bits will all be recycled.)
