One of our best parties in June, this first birthday celebration of Silent Disco Asia sports an infectious concept like no other
Who would’ve thought that the quietest party in town would turn out to be one of the loudest phenomena in the scene?
Since breaking through the party scene in May 2016, the Silent Disco Asia series has amassed loads of praise from punters old and new, with its seasonal pop-up parties in festivals like Neon Lights and iLight Marina Bay. But hold up; if you don’t know what Silent Disco even means, it’s time you prick up your ears.
Here’s the gist: Every punter gets equipped with a pair of glowing headphones, that changes colour every time you switch the channel to the live DJ of your preference. Tune into green for rock and indie, red for house and EDM, or blue for pop-savvy guilty pleasures. Doesn’t matter if you can’t hear what your dancing companions are saying; just follow revellers with the same hue as you and dance with abandon.
This birthday bash will not be a hush-hush celebration, and it’s taking place where the Silent Disco Asia fever all began – Kult Kafe.
Silent Disco Asia 1st Birthday, 17 June, Kult Kafe, 11 Upper Wilkie Road, Singapore 228120. Tickets at $35 (standard) and $45 (late tickets).
