inding a stylish watch that works with every outfit, day to night? Try these classic, analog timepieces — the perfect accessory when a clean, simple look is your thing.
Simple, minimalist watches are making waves all over the world, and you only have to look at brands like Linjer, The Horse and Komono to see why. We love the stunning design and quality pieces that last, but there are also some fantastic affordable watches subdued, timeless styles we want to add to our watch collection, right now. These stylish, go-to timepieces are designed to be ageless, and their sleek silhouettes have major appeal for both men and women. Our fave five styles will keep you punctual — or so we hope!
Linjer
Originally known for its stylish line of leather bags and wallets, Linjer has recently launched a collection of beautiful, minimalist watches inspired by the clean outlines of the Oslo Opera House in Norway. The Norwegian design studio focuses on the same top-quality components of luxury timepieces such as the Swiss quartz movement, sapphire crystal glass, as well as Italian vegetable-tanned leather straps. Also available in a basic classic style with a variety of strap sizes and hues, Linjer watches are fab, no matter the occasion and outfit.
Linjer, available at Kapok, #01-05, National Design Centre, 111 Middle Road, Singapore 188969, p. 6339 7987.
Komono
This Belgian brand is a force to be reckoned with. Its fashionable sunglasses and watches rank high on our list (we’re a sucker for rose gold details, mesh straps and mother-of-pearl dials). With the Belgian tradition of quality and craft, Komono offers stunning timepieces in a range of sleek designs, subtle hues and alternative styles such as the ever elegant Moneypenny (pictured above), which is the perfect day-to-night option.
Komono, available at authorised stockists including Exhibit, Common Thread, Club 21B and Cumulus.
The Horse
This Aussie brand is a fave for its leather lifestyle goods. We’re fans of its minimalist timepieces known as ‘The Original’, which can be refreshed with a range of replacement leather straps. Prefer a watch without the brand name stamped across its dial? ‘The Stone Collection’ features watches with a fine marble face housed in a matte case: you’ll find The Horse logo discreetly hanging out on the buckle closure instead.
The Horse, available at authorized stockists including Little Man and The Goodluck Bunch.
Daniel Wellington
Just what every man (and woman) needs: a coveted timepiece to help arrive on time and in style. Dubbed the “neatest classic collection”, Daniel Wellington’s latest arrivals embody the brand’s impeccable Scandinavian style and are bound to give its wearer a cool, unpretentious vibes. Check out its limited edition Classic Somerset and Classic Suffolk styles: truly timeless.
Daniel Wellington, available at multiple locations including Suntec City, Tangs, and Vivocity.
Maven
From the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong comes Maven, which offers simple, time-tellers that are durable and specially made by experienced watch engineers. Its Urban Nature collection is inspired by the unique landscape of cities like Hong Kong and Singapore where urban and natural spaces coexist in harmony, while its Artisan Collection is based on the simplicity and magical essence of the marble stone. Designed in natural colour tones, Maven watches are easily paired with all sorts of outfits.
Maven, available at Kapok, #01-05, National Design Centre, 111 Middle Road, Singapore 188969, p. 6339 7987.
