Quiet date places for a romantic time in Singapore
1. Enjoy the nighttime breeze along Marina Boulevard

If you’ve planned a date at Marina Bay Sands, we suggest taking a walk right after. Nothing screams romance quite like being hand in hand with your beau and just enjoying each other’s company. And if you need a spot to have a little conversation, make your way to the Breeze Shelters along Marina Boulevard. The fans here are solar-powered and activated by a motion sensor, giving you a windy spot to cool down after a morning walk. But we highly recommend swinging by this place at night. The way the waters of the Singapore River glitter while framed by the city skyline is a sight to behold.
2. Escape into nature at Botanic Gardens

Fresh air, green views: Singapore Botanic Gardens is the perfect date location for couples who are seeking out greenery sans the hike. Lay under a tree for heart-to-heart convos or watch the sunset dip into the waters of the lake. There are also gazebos across the gardens if you want extra privacy for you and your beau. Psst: if you like dog watching, you’re in for a treat as this is a spot frequented by pet owners!
3. Sunset chasing at Raffles Marina
Situated all the way at the west of Singapore, Raffles Marina makes for a tranquil date. First, head to the pier where the glorious Johor Straits Lighthouse overlooks the Tuas Second Link bridge. We suggest getting there before sunset to marvel at paddle pop skies. Follow it up with dinner at one of the restaurants in the vicinity (Marina Bistro, Captain’s Table Chinese Restaurant and Discovery Pub). Then, end the night by taking a slow walk along the promenade to enjoy sea breezes and gorgeous views.
4. Private picnics, anyone?

Singapore has many parks and beaches that are perfect for picnics. But for an intimate experience, we say skip the hotspots (read: Sentosa and East Coast Park) and turn to quieter areas like St. John’s Island and Lazarus Island. While the trip there might take a little longer, you get to bask in the sun and feel the wind in your hair minus the crowd. Plus, we’ve put together a picnic checklist so you don’t have to miss out on anything when you’re offshore.
5. A lush respite at The Green Corridor

Explore the hidden gems of nature with the Green Corridor. This strip of greenery will take you along the former railway track, from Woodlands to Tanjong Pagar. While the entire commute might be challenging, being surrounded by flora and fauna makes the whole experience worthwhile. Or you can take your bicycle to zip your way through the lush connector.
6. Home decor shopping at Tan Boon Liat Building

We know shopping for your home doesn’t scream romance right off the bat. But think about it, are you really a couple if you’ve not gone on an Ikea date? Bring your mood board to life by spending an afternoon at Tan Boon Liat Building. On the outside, the industrial building looks unexceptional, but step in and you’ll be spoilt for choice. Housing furniture and home accessories from different boutique brands under one roof, this is where you and your boo can find something both of you will like.
7. A stroll around Everton Park

A stone’s throw away from Keong Saik Road and Duxton, Everton Park is one ‘hood you might want to visit if you’re looking for a quiet date place in Singapore. There’s something nostalgic about the place – what with its murals depicting the olden days, as well as rows of shophouses and small businesses. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a brood of hens. For fuel, stop by Nylon Coffee Roasters for a cup of joe, The Better Half for baked goodies and At The Myo for fuss-free Western and Asian plates.
8. Travel back to the 1950s at Colbar

Previously a canteen for the British army back in 1953, Colbar is tucked along Whitchurch Road. The rustic colonial bar serves up a wide selection of comforting Western food, Hainanese grub and craft beers. While the food is decent, we’re in love with its charming atmosphere, from the historic photos of Colbar Football Club to the vintage knick knacks adorning the place. Psst: once you’re done, continue the nostalgic day by gallivanting around Wessex Estate.
9. Brunch on the outskirts of Changi

When you think brunch, neighbourhoods like Tiong Bahru and Telok Ayer will probably pop into your head. However, for something low-key, The Coastal Settlement fits the bill. Nestled in the former Changi Military Base, you’ll find tons of vintage knick-knacks and quirky decor on display at this retro cafe. Food-wise, expect honest comfort food, including burgers and pizzas, as well as local favourites like beef rendang and nasi lemak. Be charmed by nature and seaside views while your dog roams and explores the area. Yes, this is a pet-friendly spot. Here’s a tip: end the day with a romantic stroll along Changi Boardwalk.
