Castlery launches first all-in-one AR-powered shopping app to address furniture shopping needs amid stay home measures.
In light of the enforced COVID-19 stay home measures, homegrown e-commerce furniture retailer Castlery has launched an all-in-one iOS shopping app featuring new Augmented Reality (AR) capabilities as well as a ‘virtual studio’ experience to help customers shop easier from home.
The AR function allows consumers to experience 3D models of products true-to-scale and view intricate details such as fabric and leather textures in any real-life environment, so users can get an immersive sense of how the furniture looks and feels in their space.
Enhancing customer experience and meeting evolving consumer needs has been one of Castlery’s core tenets since its inception – as seen in its direct-to-consumer business model, proprietary enterprise resource planning system and seamless online-offline approach to retail.
The AR feature was originally slated to roll out in Q3 2020 but was accelerated in response to the circuit breaker, which has prevented customers from visiting its physical showrooms. A ‘virtual studio’ tool was also launched to let shoppers explore its flagship studio from their homes.
