Love your Negronis? The annual celebration of this Italian aperitif is back from 5 to 11 June, and it’s bigger than ever with 50 participating bars!
Dark, mysterious and complex, the Negroni is a cocktail that holds a special place in my heart. If you’re as passionate as I am about this classic aperitif, then you’ll definitely want to mark your calendars for Negroni Week from 5 to 11 June. Taking place at some of the best cocktail bars around the city, the festival will showcase a selection of inventive Negroni-inspired cocktails that will redefine the classic drink.
The first wave of submissions will include eight acclaimed Singapore bars. Expect boundary-pushing renditions of the drink like Bread Street Kitchen’s Soft Serve Negroni, as well as the Her Royal Highness, a mace-laced creation by Fat Prince’s Loga Raj.
In addition to being an opportunity to enjoy prime variations of this cocktail, you’ll be drinking for a cause – in an initiative led by Campari (a key ingredient in the cocktail), each bar will donate at least a dollar from their negroni cocktails or negroni-related products to a charity of their choice. And with over 50 bars set to compete this year, rest assured you’ll be doing lots of good as you celebrate everything Negroni.
Can’t wait ‘til the festival and want to try mixing up this potent aperitif yourself? Here’s a quick guide to putting together a classic Negroni at home:
