Will flannel ever get old? We think not. Especially with Muji’s spanking new flannel wear line…
Our fave brand for minimal, comfy fits is back with a new line: Head to Muji for cotton flannel pieces that will stick around in your wardrobe for years.
Some associate it with 90s grunge, others remember it as a casual collegiate staple (admit it, you’ve walked around campus with a flannel tied around your waist), but we can all agree that this fabric never goes out of style. Yes, flannel is a fabric, though it’s often confused with plaid, which is the pattern that’s commonly seen on flannels – but we digress.
For wardrobe essentials like this, we’re all for investing in quality pieces that will last. So we’re turning to the Muji cotton flannel wear line, especially when discounts are in season (we have all the deets below)…
Flannel, flannel, this just in
Get these flannels that last forever without breaking the bank – that shirt you wanted is now 10% off till 9 Oct 2019. Muji literally has the whole fam covered, complete with a kids (available at selected stores) and pyjamas’ series in the range.
New in the men’s flannel shirts are red or indigo checkered prints, as well as Mandarin collar button-downs (see: Stand Collar Shirt), which double as chic yet heat-friendly outerwear (think a silhouette reminiscent of a bomber jacket, sans the bulk).
For ladies, we’re welcoming the airy Flannel Pullover Dress that’ll take us from lounging at home to strolling to a casual cafe for brunch. Also on our wish list, the timeless cut of the Flannel Pullover Tunic would look super fetch with a black faux leather skirt.
Worn in, even when it’s not
Our working theory is that organic, desert-grown Xinjiang cotton is the secret to how amazing Muji’s apparel feel on the skin. And the brand is doing it again with this flannel release.
You know that stiff, starchy feeling of a yet-to-be-broken-in shirt that needs a few more runs in the wash? You’ll have none of that with Muji’s shirts and pullovers. It’s made with low-count cotton yarn and brushed processing, which basically translates to being hella soft and oh-so-snuggly.
Here’s another cool fact: They’re made with a napping process that makes it warm and comfy, but also resistant to fluff even after repeated washes – which is why these pieces will stay in your stash for a long time!
Muji cotton flannel line, 12 Sept to 9 Oct 2019
P.S. Check out the Autumn menu at Cafe&Meal Muji
Along with Muji’s cosy flannels for the year-end sweater weather, Cafe&Meal Muji is launching a new menu for the autumn months too.
Cold deli picks include the rosemary potato salad tossed with bacon, mushrooms, and vegetables; while the hot deli features new plates like the barramundi with roasted green chili and capsicum mayo. For sweets, we’re looking to the raspberry konnyaku jelly for a tangy yet sweet treat with a splash of white wine.
Cafe&Meal Muji, autumn menu, available till 23 Oct 2019 at Plaza Singapura and Raffles City.
