Not as many concerts this July, but that’s no excuse to keep your screams to yourself.
Okay we admit, July isn’t brimming with a ton of concerts. But with the likes of Celine Dion, Daughtry and a certain K-pop star, we’re sure concert lovers will get on just fine. After all, August promises to be lit (think Paramore, Bob Dylan and Halsey). We say, July is just the calm before the storm.
Celine Dion
3 & 4 July
At long last, this pop-ballad queen will be gracing Singapore with her presence. As a testament to her legendary abilities, Celine Dion has experimented with a plethora of genres throughout the years, from gospel to R&B and even classical. Winner of multiple Grammy awards, fans will be in for a treat with her top songs ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and ‘I’m Your Angel’. Alas, all good things come at a price. The tickets to her concert start at a not-bad $150 but go up to $1200 for VVIP sitting. Our hearts just sank faster than the Titanic.

Philadelphia Boys Choir
7 July
One of the most established boys’ choirs is making its way to Singapore for the first time ever as part of its 50th anniversary. The Philadelphia Boys Choir has been hailed as the “cream of the crop’’ by George Bush and rightly so: these gifted young men have performed at gargantuan locations such as the Notre Dame in Paris and D-Day beaches in Normandy. Expect these gifted young gents to deliver a range of performances with perfect harmony, from broadway musicals to contemporary classics.

Lee Seung Gi
7 July
If K-pop obsessives across the world had to choose a perfect man, this Korean superstar would most likely fit the bill. On July 7th, The ‘Ballad King’ will be back in Singapore for his first ever fan meeting session and will no doubt enchant Singapore with his flawless aura and famous hit songs ‘Will You Marry Me’ and ‘Return’. Apart from his exceptional crooning, this talented stud is also a renowned talk show host, an acclaimed actor (Korean Odyssey) and was one of the torchbearers of the London Olympics in 2012. Oh, did we mention? He also served in the special forces. Talk about an all-rounder!

Daughtry
11 July
Chris Daughtry proves the theory that American Idol runner-ups usually outshine the winners (think Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson and Kellie Pickler). Never looking back since his surprising elimination, this talented vocalist has since started his own rock band (pictured above) which has toured non-stop since 2007. Landing at Singapore on 11 July, expect to hear hits from the new album ‘Cage to Rattle’ as well as old classics ‘Home’ and ‘It’s Not Over’.

Wanna One
13 July
Bring the squeals because one of the hottest K-pop bands is scheduled to make a stop in Singapore as part of its first world tour. Wanna One is a boy band formed through Korean popular program “Produce 101: Season 2”, and has 11 members. OTT? Who can forget their debut song ‘Energetic’ which made waves throughout the world. Apart from their hot singles, this bunch of talented boys will be performing tracks from their mini album ‘I Promise You’. We’re sure everyone is hoping that this group’s contract will be extended past the end of this year: surely they’re too good to disband!

Odesza
20 July
A cool sounding name, fresh beats, and energetic melodies. What’s not to love about this electrifying duo. Ever since they released their debut album ‘Summer’s Gone’, the underground electronic music scene has opened its arms to welcome these new stars and it has been uphill ever since. Thankfully for us, Odesza will be hitting our shores to promote their ‘A Moment Apart Tour’ and we are absolutely stoked!
