All the highlights
Start the day with a nutritious superfood breakfast of Blue Spirulina Bowls from Coocaça for spoonfuls of organic blue spirulina, pineapple, banana, oat milk, coconut flakes and pomegranate. Then, immerse yourself in a “Peace of Mind” ritual by Origins, using its On-the-Spot Relief treatment lotion that eases tension with basil essential oil, relieves stress with peppermint essential oil and promotes deeper breathing with eucalyptus essential oil. Now you’re all calm and in the zone.
Next up: The Partner Yoga class, where you’ll team up with your exercise buddy to carry out a series of poses performed between the two of you to get a better understanding of familiar stances and try out new, unconventional ones. Just bring your own yoga mats to pair up for a morning of fun. To continue the sweat sesh, join the 30-minute Tabata or 40-minute Zumba workouts to get your heart pumping and burn those calories.
If you prefer to take the action to the pool, sign up for Aquaspin’s high-intensity and low-impact workouts that combine indoor cycling with aqua aerobics. Everyone’s welcome – you don’t have to be a swimmer to challenge yourself. Try the Aqua Signature class for a full-body HIIT session with short sprint stints and active recovery, or go for the Aqua Power option, which features cardio intensity, boxing and strength training using resistance bands and Aquastrength equipment on the bikes.
Need some inspiration to take a dip into the wellness pool? Sit in on the Meditation talk by Miryam Acosta, a yoga teacher whose foray into the mind and body practice started in Guayaquil, Ecuador, when she left behind her finance background and embarked on a journey towards self-discovery. Miryam is known for incorporating her powerful medley of strength, flexibility and endurance training into her classes, alongside elements of breath awareness and body consciousness. With her at the helm, you’ll learn how to find the perfect meditation fit for your daily routine by trying out different variations.
Next up, the Sound Bath talk by Azmi Samdjaga, who’s a master in the art of dance, massage therapy and sound therapy. Combining his expertise in movement, physiology and body awareness, his yoga classes take students through self-exploration, with the introduction of singing bowls to elevate the experience. At our event, he’ll be guiding you through the ancient healing practice of sound bath, which works through the absorption of sonic waves or frequencies generated by voices and instruments like gongs and singing bowls.
Oh, and here’s a great way to get your retail therapy fix – the conscious way. Browse through wares on display at the health market, with lots of fashion, beauty and eco-friendly picks to bring home. Need a little perk-me-up? Work for your treat by hopping on the stationary bike for a quick cycling session, which will generate power to blend your fruit smoothie. And since we’re all about sustainability, you’re encouraged to bring your own reusable cup to get your drink, which comes courtesy of HealthPartners and the Sharent app.
