Helmed by top French baker Gontran Cherrier, and opened by the Spa Esprit Group (the same folks behind Open Door Policy and coffeehouse 40 Hands), is arguably the city’s top spot for French pastries.
Hot sellers include the butter croissants and chocolate croissants, which are definitely heavy on the butter, although not cloyingly so. They also look almost too good to eat – the layers are distinctly fanned out and provide a great crisp. Thumbs up ‘cos no one likes a soggy croissant. Stellar service all around with reasonable wait times, there is but one big gripe: drink prices probably raised a few eyebrows.
