Throwing your next dinner soiree, office drinks or home party? This guide to alcohol retailers and bottle shops in Singapore will come in handy.
The main ingredient for any good shindig: Booze, and lots of it. No matter what the event is – whether it’s a small dinner get-together or a huge birthday bash – it’s almost unceremonious (in our opinion, at least) not to serve, or bring along, some wine, champagne, beer or cocktails to the party. To complete your home bar, pop into these well-stocked liquor stores for a wide selection of great and sometimes hard-to-find labels.

5. Wine Connection
You’re probably already hitting up Wine Connection for your wine to-go. First opened in Bangkok back in 1998, the chic wine retailer and bar follows a vineyard-to-consumer business model and cuts out the middleman, which ultimately benefits your pockets.

In addition to boasting a huge inventory of wine, spirits and beers online, Cellarbration has several well-stocked shops islandwide. The prices here are attractive, and the variety of spirits is especially good. You’ll even find uncommon bourbons like Evan Williams Single Barrel and Jefferson’s. If you’re a fan of more esoteric alcohol, Cellarbration also carries three varieties of particularly potent absinthe.

8. Nectars & Vine
Nectars & Vine won’t win awards for ambience, but it scores major points for its selection of craft beers. But it’s not all English brews; expect to see Japanese ales like Hitachino and Danish microbrews like Evil Twin.

9. Brewers’ Craft
Brewers’ Craft is another worthy entry point into the world of craft beers. You’ll find anything from sweet, spicy Trappistes Rochefort beers to hoppy American IPAs like the Inversion IPA. New beers are regularly introduced, so keep an eye on its Facebook page for new arrivals.

10. Thirsty The Beer Shop
The folks behind Thirsty are real serious about craft beer, and their shop is proof. Its library of spirits, which boasts both mainstream brands (Johnnie Walker, 42 Below) and obscure, boutique labels (Bulldog Gin, Corralejo Tequila) is impressive. Plus, there are aromatic bitters, syrups and bar tools to help you make the perfect drink. First launched as an e-commerce retailer, Liquor Bar is also a reliable online source; the minimum order is $100, and delivery charge is $10 – not much, considering some of its bottles are pretty hard to find elsewhere in the city.
