Experience the Jim Beam in a highball at its exclusive pop-up bar in Clarke Quay this October!
Smooth, dark and flavourful – that’s what most people would think of when they think of a Jim Beam bourbon. You’ll be forgiven for mistaking it to be a tad heavy for Singapore’s tropical climate. But here’s a hot tip: bourbon can be refreshing too! Instead of having it neat, opt for a highball.
A refreshing cocktail classic…
What’s a highball? It’s one of the most timeless tipples: liquor, a carbonated mixer such as soda water and loads of ice, stirred and served in a tall glass (we always like a garnish). This makes for an undoubtedly cool and delicious drink and it goes without saying that such a minimalist concoction calls for a liquor that truly shines. And that’s where Jim Beam, the best-selling bourbon in the world, comes in.
This American classic has kept its original recipe for over 200 years; its medium-bodied smoothness opens sweet and finishes clean and crisp; you’ll notice hints of caramel and vanilla, and you can smell some mild oaky notes, too. Jim Beam served in a highball glass is one easy-to-drink and oh-so refreshing tipple.
Want in? Drop by Jim Beam’s pop-up bar
For a taste of the Jim Beam Highball, head on down to the Jim Beam Pop-Up Bar in Clarke Quay from 9-13 October. Highballs will be made using Jim Beam’s proprietary draft machine from Japan to create the perfect ratio of the label’s award-winning bourbon to the special high-pressured soda. The result? One refreshing, super-carbonated, ice-cold concoction. Aside from the classic concoction of Jim Beam and soda with a squeeze of lemon, highballs will also be served in flavours like yuzu lemon, yuzu lychee, strawberry lychee, kyoho grape and kiwi, and mango and pomelo.
For your food-pairing pleasure, the pop-up bar is dishing out a wide array of scrumptious snacks like Kushikatsu Tanaka’s best-selling fried skewers, battered and fried to crisp perfection, Hooters wings (with barbecue sauce and its three-mile spicy sauce), and garlic prawns from Ras. You won’t have to leave your seats as food orders will be delivered to you.
There’s also a DIY Highball area at the pop-up where your can create and perfect your own highball concoctions with ingredients from the highball-mixing cart. Guests can also get their hands on a complimentary Jim Beam Highball glass mug when they post their DIY videos online with #JimBeamHighball. Plus, look out for games situated across the bar area for your entertainment.
