Our fave Singapore boutique fair with designers from around the world showcasing beautiful accessories, gifts, fashion, and interior design
Dreamers, design-lovers, and all stylish peeps …. Good news! It’s ba-ack! *Squeals of delight*
Boutiques at The Pit Building is the original, and largest, curated pop-up shopping experience in Singapore and it’s returning for yet another showcase of unique indie fashion brands, uber-chic interior decor, and lifestyle products, all under one roof! Word on the street is it’s going to be bigger, bolder, and better, than ever before. Excuse us while we hyperventilate with excitement! Featuring 150 beautiful pop-up boutique stores, expect exclusive spring collection launches from a smorgasbord of hotter-than-hot independent designers. It’s one of the only places in Singapore where you get DIRECT access to meet the designers and founders of indie brands from around the world. Where else in the world, do you get to do that?
It’s time to start afresh for Spring (maybe even spring-clean – Marie Kondo stylee!) and make way for the new designers and indie fave labels and lifestyle brands found at Boutiques. Though ladies, it ain’t just about you! With several menswear and childrenswear designers present, why not treat the entire fam to a style overhaul; we say new year, new you! Who’s with us? Clear your diaries on 11 and 12 March and round up your girlfriends; there is shopping to be done!
For the Fashion-Forward
We’re kinda obsessed with KALAIA Label. Check out the dreamy, ethereal pieces – all made with silk or linen – that are perfect for tropical living. Local label Engell Peh is another must visit for luxurious and affordable feminine elegance. Be sure to stock up on weekend getaway essentials courtesy of Simone Irani – the 2016 collection is packed with luxe bohemian cover-ups, dresses, and jumpsuits, in bold prints and bright colours. Make a beeline for French brand SYSTRER; stocking hot bikinis and one-pieces from Kiwi St Tropez, and beautiful beach bags from PlayaPlaya, one word – j’adore. Sticking with the French theme, get your wardrobe staples with a twist from Lespard Fashion. Think cute skirts, shirts, and dresses; welcome additions to any closet. Finally, for genuine Panama hats look no further than Hat of Cain; guys and gals get your dapper on here.
For the Dreamers & Lovers
Any outfit remains incomplete until you’ve layered up the accessories and, in our view, more is more! If you’re a jewellery magpie, be sure to check out the playful, artisan pieces created by hot-right-now Carrie K, or the brilliant blue stones taking centre stage in the latest collection from By Invite Only. We’re also lusting over the myriad of unique jewellery labels sitting under Annielka Jewellery; stocking the likes of Alex Monroe, Daisy Knights, Mezi, Petite Grand, and more, you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you’re looking to make a statement, check out the contemporary range from Dvibhumi; tipped by industry insiders as one of the most promising jewellery designers in India, we’ve got a feeling this range isn’t going to be affordable for long! For stunning handmade leather goods, pay a visit to One+One. This local brand lovingly creates unique pieces that will impress even the most discerning shopper.
Treat your feet to the ultimate summer shoe must-haves. The Tui Collection has come up trumps with hand-made, tasselled, beaded sandals that ooze ethnic-cool. Or snap up a pair of espadrilles from Cote and Badt; we can’t get enough of the bright hues in their latest collection.
Finally, get your hands on some serious arm candy from Frankitas. Cute clutches and totes star in this super swish Indonesian-inspired collection.
For the Homebodies
Inject your home with a dash of cool from Aussie interior specialists, Affordable Style Files. We can’t wait to check out its current range that includes a selection of pots from Pop and Scott pots, luxurious designer towels from Ninnho, scatter cushions and clocks from Art Club Concept, and hanging chairs and bar carts from Byron Bay Hanging Chairs and Bar Carts. Phew! Sounds epic. On the hunt for those all important finishing touches? The candles, hammocks, and bamboo flasks from Let’s Stay In are quirky yet chic. Solve your storage woes with the laid back vibes of Bohemian. We love its Vietnamese and Moroccan baskets in particular. For beautiful lighting take a peek at Midnight Sparks, if you’re searching for cool copper strung fairy-lights for inside and out, look no further! If art is your thang be sure to stop by Earth Tay Siew Cheng and take a look at the stunning collection of porcelain flowers. Fill your blank walls with a bright print from Jason Denning Panoramic Photography, an image from his Singapore collection is on our shopping wish list!
For the Kids
Don’t forget the little ones! We heart the too-cool-for-school hipster vibe from the latest Baby Style Icon collection. Check out kiddies lifestyle boutique, Maison Q, and their awesome array of reversible shirts and dresses for a pop of colour and bold prints. Firm favourite, Madie Moo, continues to stock some of the cutest brands around, such as Balinese-inspired fashion from Coco and Ginger, and adorable bedroom decor from Gingermonkey. If you’re on the hunt for nursery inspo, be sure to stop by Deer Industries. Their cool, contemporary range features furniture, bedding and accessories; it’s humorous, yet sophisticated. We also love the Indonesian inspired bedroom accessories from Duduk. Stocking tipi tents, pillows, and poufs, the range brings a pop of batik brilliance that your kids (and you!) will love.
Finally, don’t forget to stop by the Play Space by The Children’s Showcase to keep the kiddies entertained while you shop!
Open Space Concept
The 2000sqm Pit Building will be transformed into a spacious shopping mecca with colour coded rooms to help you navigate the beautiful boutique pop-ups (which are creative master pieces themselves!). Be sure to check out The Lounge upon arrival; styled by Make-Room launching products from contemporary HK Living, it’s the perfect space to relax when you’re all shopped out. You can even enjoy a cheeky vino courtesy of Pop Up Wine, indulge in a wine-tasting masterclass, or get involved in a make-up workshop. There’s also an art space to inspire and delight.
Phew! Make sure you leave time for all of this, you might even need to visit twice, we know we will be!
