Looking for new places to bring the fam? The festive season has arrived, and we’ve got the scoop on an exciting Sonic takeover at i12 Katong, plus lots of perks to look forward to.
It’s almost Christmas, and that means the season of gatherings, feasting, and gifting. If you’re on the search for places to go with the whole fam, we’ve got your back.
For fun for the whole family under one roof, i12 Katong is inviting you to a Sonic-themed Christmas extravaganza. It’s even throwing in a line-up of new shops and lots of perks to end off the year on a sweet note.
Can’t wait to get started? Here are five things to do with the fam that everyone will love!
1. Have a very merry Sonic Christmas
Take on the Sonic obstacle course
Take a deep breath, and get ready to conquer the exciting Sonic obstacle course that brings the beloved game to life! Suitable for players aged three and above, the course takes daring adventurers through a series of challenges. Dart through the Sea of Rings, dash along the Quintuple Steps, make your way across the Floating Bridge, and more.
Psst: make your way to the end (if you can!), and be rewarded with a limited edition Sonic badge (worth $5). This is limited to the first 150 players a day, so get running!
When: 7 to 22 December 2024, 11.30am to 8.30pm
Get into the Sonic fever
Who doesn’t love these cute Sonic the hedgehog characters? Snap your photos at photo spots with elaborate backdrops, and test your skills at the (free!) SEGA Sonic gaming consoles. Plus, bag cool Sonic merch like glow-in-the-dark shirts and limited edition collectibles.
Say hello to Sonic the hedgehog himself
PSA: New screensaver image, incoming! Get your cameras ready, and huddle up for a fab photo with everyone’s favourite speedy hedgehog. Feel free to pose for a picture yourself, or gather the fam for a fab photo. Or, how about a group hug as well?
When: 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, and 29 December 2024; 2.30pm to 3pm, and 4.30pm to 5pm
2. Dining and retail therapy for the parents whilst kids play
While there’s plenty of fun for the kiddos, parents aren’t left out either. Look forward to a bunch of rewards when you shop and dine at i12 Katong. Indeed, ‘tis the time for giving, and the mall’s going all out as our friendly neighbourhood Santa this year! Simply spend a minimum of $50 to redeem a free Sonic Obstacle Challenge pass (worth $30, limited to 1000 redemptions).
Don’t say we didn’t tell you: the rewards just get better when you spend more. On top of the Sonic Obstacle Challenge pass, a minimum spending of $150 will get you a limited edition Sonic EZlink card (worth $15 with $2 load value, limited to 500 redemptions), as well as one lucky draw chance. Or, go all out by spending a minimum of $300 and get additional limited edition Sonic merchandise brought in from Japan (worth $18, limited to 200 redemptions), plus a Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie premiere ticket (limited to 200 redemptions).
As a bonus, pop by on weekdays (Mondays to Thursdays) to snag an additional F&B voucher (limited to 200 redemptions), and one extra lucky draw chance. All you have to do is to head to the Concierge on level three to pick up your goodies.
3. Have the chance to win an all-expense-paid Japan holiday
So, that lucky draw that we mentioned? Believe it or not, but a 6D5N holiday to Japan is up for grabs! Who knows, you might be the lucky winner who gets to go on an exhilarating Shikoku adventure — with air fare, and a 6D5N Tokushima Kochi tour for two, including accommodation (worth about a whopping $6000 in total), thrown into the mix.
4. Jazz it up with tons of welcome points
If you’ve yet to become a Rewards+ member, what are you waiting for? There’s no better time to do so than this festive season, where you can spend a mere $50 to receive 1,000 welcome points (worth $5) in return. You’ll even receive an exclusive i12 Katong foldable umbrella which, trust us, will come in real handy during this rainy season.
5. Check out the mall’s new shops
Have a coffee break at Greybox (#02-23/24) or Tim Hortons (#01-28), which has rolled out delectable spiced gingerbread beverages for the festive season. Edith Patisserie (#B1-30) has also got sweet treats for the whole fam, including assorted Christmas brownies, a mini wreath cake, and a tangy raspberry mango log cake.
If you’re in need of some stocking stuffers, head over to Looqal (#02-06). It showcases a range of independent small-batch businesses, so you can be sure that your Christmas gifts will be the talk of the party. Fill your basket with candles, kids’ dresses, hair products, and more. And, before you know it, Chinese New Year will be here in no time! Start preparing by dropping by Five Blessings Fengshui (#01-15) for a personalised bazi reading (a form of fortune telling using a Chinese astrological system).
Start practising all those Christmas jingles, the party’s about to start — or approaching at Sonic speed, in this case — at i12 Katong!
