A picture speaks a thousand words? Complement your Instagram post with stories that scream a million. Here are five hidden hacks to glam up your Instagram feed
Hey there, social media addicts, we’ve got some huge tips to up your Instagram game the next time you’re on the hunt for Insta-worthy spots in Singapore. While Snapchat has been consistently adding new (but oh-so-cute) filters, Instagram is coming out on top with its own unique set of features too, especially in the Instagram Story department. They may seem daunting at first, but fret not; this little guide will give you a hand in becoming an Insta-pro in no time. It’s time to hop onto the Instagram Story bandwagon.
1. How to customise your own colours
If you’re one of those Instagram users who’s all about consistency and the suggested colours at the bottom of your screen don’t quite suit your aesthetic, tap and hold any one of them and it’ll open up a wider spectrum of colours. Go lighter, darker, cooler or warmer with any colour – there are no limits!
2. How to add dimensions to your text
Be adventurous with texts. Simply make a copy of your text in a different colour, and layer them on top of one another to create the illusion of a drop shadow-like font.
3. No hands, no problem!
This tip is really handy, so you don’t have to keep holding the record button. All you have to do is swipe left twice in the Story page to “Hands-Free” mode. It’s especially useful when you’re planning on switching between the front and rear-facing cameras when recording.
4. How to colour-fill your screen
Have you been one of those who uses the brush tools to manually paint the entire screen? This hack will save you so much time, trust me. For an opaque canvas, pick the marker or neon brush, a colour of your choice then tap and hold your screen for a few seconds. To add a layer of tinted film on top of your image or video, choose the highlighter brush instead.
5. How to personalise your own stickers
Stickers can easily spice up your story, but a selfie sticker will make it even more memorable (or hilarious). To create your own, select the sticker button on the top right of your screen (or simply swipe upwards), tap on the camera option, smile wide and voila!
