New places to drink cocktails, whisky, beer, and wine in Holland Village, Keong Saik, and Beach Road
Whether you’re winding down from work, recovering from an arthouse movie or just out with your best mates, checking out a new bar in town is always perfect for a great night out. Here are five new bars we think you should check out in April.
The Warehouse Hotel is absolutely the hippest place to hang out right now.
Warehouse Hotel Lobby Bar
The Warehouse Hotel is proof that industrial doesn’t mean grimy. Step into this urban-chic hideaway and the first thing you’ll see in their spacious, high-ceiling lobby is the Warehouse Hotel Lobby Bar. With its creative selection of signature cocktails, the bar is well worth a visit – even if you’re not spending a night there. The bar’s cocktails aim to evoke nostalgic memories of the area’s rich heritage and showcase regional ingredients – from spice-driven cocktails to fresh, flirty cocktails inspired by the building’s past as a discotheque.

MOJO
New to Telok Ayer is this multi-concept bar resto that serves up healthy, hearty lunch bowls in the day, before switching gears to a more cocktail-driven concept at night. In addition to serving yakitori and tapas dishes, the bar will mix up cocktails featuring umeshu, sake, and soju along with other Asian ingredients.
MOJO, 204 Telok Ayer Street, Singapore 068640. p. 6220 0723.
Lucky Bar
Nothing brings out the hipster in us like sussing out new hidden bars. The newest of which, Lucky Bar, has just opened on the rooftop of Full of Luck Club. Like the main restaurant, the bar will serve authentic Cantonese cuisine along with cocktails that blend Eastern and Western flavours. The bar is only accessible from a secluded alleyway behind Full of Luck Club. Oh, and we just love its whole Wong Kar Wai-esque feel.
Lucky Bar, 243 Holland Avenue (Entrance behind Full of Luck Club via the back alley), Singapore 278977. p. 6208 6845. Open Fri-Sat 6pm-1am. Closed on Mon.
DON HO
Trust the folks at Sunshine Nation to come up with such a good vibe-y bar-resto concept as DON HO. The industrial-tropical themed space is one you’ll want to take in over a couple of cocktails. On the menu, you’ll find unique cocktails like the Pianolo, a whisky-based cocktail made with fresh lime, cranberry, hazelnut syrup, and home-made espresso. And, true to its Sunshine Nation pedigree, you’ll be sipping tipples to the sweet sounds of Motown soul and other dancey goodies. Trust us, you’ll want to stick around way past your bedtime.
DON HO, 1 Keong Saik Road, Singapore 089109. p. 6223 5001. Open Tue-Sat 6pm-12am. Closed Sun-Mon.
Intermission Bar
Need a moment to collect your thoughts over that intense, indie flick you just caught at The Projector? In addition to The Projector’s delightfully raw carpark bar, The Great Escape, you’ll also get to kick back at the new Intermission Bar. In addition to beer on tap, wines, cocktails and house pours, you’ll get some unconventional bar offerings such as freshly baked dessert loaves, with unique flavours like ondeh-ondeh, lemon rosemary, and Earl Grey orange. It’s a rather unconventional offering, but then again, this is an unconventional cineplex.
Intermission Bar, 6001 Beach Road, #05-00, Golden Mile Tower, 199589. p. 9637 9201.
