Bar Rouge’s signature drink is the perfect sundowner.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Shanghai’s most iconic bar, Bar Rouge, has landed in Singapore at Swissôtel The Stamford. Expect the same Blade Runner vibe and hypnotic red neon, spectacular view of the city skyline (swap Pudong for Marina Bay), and even the larger than life presence of the Bar Rouge ‘muse’, watching over guests. There are a few local twists: we’ll leave you to enjoy the surprises.
What else has winged its way from Shanghai to Singapore? Bar Rouge’s signature drink: Mr & Mrs Rouge. If you’ve enjoyed a cosmopolitan or two in your time, this is next level: raspberry and blackcurrant puree give it that deep red glow; fresh berries give the cocktail intensity without too much sweetness. Grey Goose vodka, vanilla syrup handmade behind the bar and that unmistakable citrus aroma from a twist of orange make this one desirable number.
Drink it while you watch the sun set over Singapore’s skyline – the bar is on the 71st floor of Swissôtel The Stamford, joining its Shanghai sister in the sole purpose of helping you live the high life. Our red hot tip? Stay well beyond sunset: Bar Rouge turns it on after dark with one state-of-the-art, intimate clubbing experience. Those cages in the bar ain’t staying empty, after all.
