All you need is your body, some space, and a little motivation. Build your own routine by picking one exercise from each group to get your whole body working – no excuses!
Core
Burpees
This hat trick move, which combines a squat, push-up and jump, is sure to get your heart pounding. Once you’ve nailed the technique, pick up the pace.
Plank
One of the most straightforward and effective bodyweight exercises out there, working every muscle from your arms, shoulders, back and legs. Try these variations to keep things interesting!
Russian Twist
Get your obliques (the sides of your torso) burning with this move. Extra points if you hold a weight such as a dumbbell or a filled, large water bottle.
Arms
Shadow Boxing
Air punches are a great way to improve your upper body endurance and co-ordination. Practice your technique for jabs, hooks, cross punches and uppercuts, then try out some killer combinations.
Tricep Dips
An upper arm exercise for toning those pesky little chicken wings under our biceps.
Push-Ups
This common army punishment actually works out muscles across your whole body. Do the ‘knee push up’ if the classic knees-off-the-ground version is too difficult. And whaddya know – there are 82 types out there to try!
Legs
Lunges
It may look like a super simple move but lunges work much more than just your legs. It strengthens your bum and core while improving your hip flexibility too!
Roman Chair
Need a break? Take a seat… but leave out the chair. The only thing this exercise needs is a wall to lean on.
Calf Raises
The next time you’re waiting for a taxi or for the pedestrian sign to turn green, fill the waiting time by doing this toning exercise.
Butt
Glute bridges
Chances are we’ve all already done something similar – especially when we pull on those ultra skinny jeans.
Squats
There’s nothing like a squat to help shape those killer legs with a perky booty to match,. There are literally hundreds of variations out there from the plié, frog, toe and even jump squat.
Standing Fire Hydrant
We know what it looks like… but it’s great for getting that deep butt cheek burn.
