Guinness-infused mooncakes? They get a resounding ‘hell, yes’ from the Honeycombers team!
Fact: the Honeycombers team’s got a soft spot for rich desserts – the bigger the indulgence, the better. That said, we can never resist a satisfying mooncake and Guinness’ brand new, stout-infused gems are a huge hit at our mooncake taste test.
Encased in a velvety snowskin, these fun-sized mooncakes feature an aromatic coffee-flavoured white lotus paste. But what really won us over was the Guinness-infused chocolate ganache found in its centre, adding a creamy, caramel intensity to the traditional dessert. Want to know just how much we loved the mooncakes? We took a poll with our taste-testers and here’s what they said:
“As a big fan of coffee, I’m really loving the Guinness mooncake because it tastes exactly like a dark coffee truffle.” Jana Blanco, creative services writer
“The mooncake was delicious, tasty and sweet without being overpowering. Wouldn’t expect anything less from a stout.” Sheralyn Loh, content writer
“I am not a huge mooncake fan, but I am a Guinness fan. These little beauties – part coffee, part Guinness – won me over. More please.” Tracy Tristram, HoneyKids editor
“I love Guinness’ draft and was expecting a stronger stout flavour but it’s still very palatable. The mooncake is a mix of chocolate and coffee and is actually very yummy.” Jacp Fong, account director
“When I heard of these Guinness mooncakes, I was not expecting a coffee-flavoured lotus paste and Guinness-infused chocolate ganache. It’s a smart way to balance the bitterness of the stout. Works for me.” Nicole Nithiyah, lifestyle writer
“I was really surprised by these – I didn’t expect the coffee flavour and the petite sizes are perfect.” Selina Altomonte, Honeycombers editor
