Want to donate your old items and get stuff back? Swap clothes and more in Singapore!
Clutter: we all want less of it. From cutting down on shopaholic habits to being more selective and making ethical choices in what we buy, we’re jumping on the sustainable fashion bandwagon. We’ve already got our spots for donating stuff to charity, but if you want to give away stuff directly to someone who needs it, we have options for that. Check out swaps in Singapore for clothes, accessories and more, as well as a market full of freebies!
Where to give away items and get stuff in return
1. The Fashion Pulpit

The Fashion Pulpit champions sustainable fashion with its platform to swap, upcycle, thrift and repurpose clothes and accessories globally. Talk about swapping up the fashion game! Instead of just giving away clothes, you’ll get to pick out a few items to take home from the studio’s existing collection. All you have to do is choose a membership (that gives you access to either a one-time swap or one year of unlimited swaps), bring your unwanted items for a quick quality check, and swap away!

2. Freecycle SG
When it comes to reusing and recycling, Freecycle is a global non-profit movement that aims to redistribute unwanted stuff among communities. Singapore has its own chapter: it functions as a platform (mostly on Facebook) to offer items you don’t use anymore. In turn, you’ll provide someone with what they need. But, keep in mind it’s not about taking items for the sake of getting free stuff. Focus on being a responsible member by taking only things you’ll use.

3. Freegood
This app was created to make it easy for anyone to give away and request goods without monetary exchange. Think Carousell, but free. Founders Siddharth and Yuvi Bhasin were inspired by their past experiences in getting rid of unwanted stuff – and also by their desire to help others. Instead of letting everything pile up as junk, Freegood aims to foster a culture of reducing waste and helping the environment and others. It’s a win-win!

4. Swapaholic

If you love shopping, you’ve probably spent a lot contributing to the fashion industry’s socially and environmentally hazardous practices. It’s time to scale it back, we say. Want to change your shopping habits? Buy less and reduce waste. That’s where Swapaholic comes in. These folks make it easy for you to overhaul your closet by giving away pieces that no longer fit your lifestyle or fashion sense, and replacing them with items you want. Join the movement by signing up to keep tabs on events around the island.

Absolutely anyone with stuff to give away or skills and crafts to offer are welcome. If you find something you like, you’re welcome to take it. Stay tuned on its social pages to find out when the next market will be held.
