From thrilling music acts and hotel deals, to food booths and pop-up bars – this edition of the Garden Beats Festival is already surpassing all expectations
We already got you psyched with our first glimpse into Sunshine Nation’s first Garden Beats Festival of 2017, and we know you’re still restless for more. Fortunately, these picnic party promoters have just filled us in on what else you can expect at this jolly jamboree – and from what we’ve heard, this is shaping up to be the biggest Garden Beats yet.
There will be feasts from Fat Prince
We’ve raved about the scrumptious Middle Eastern nosh you’ll find at this buzzy restaurant (the kebabs are just heavenly!), and thankfully, you’ll find these folks setting up a food booth at Garden Beats as well. Also popping up on the Culinary Grounds of the festival – curated by the folks behind Deliveroo – are the sandwiches from Park Bench Deli, Hawaiian poké from Loloku, and New York deli fare from Sacha & Sons.
We will be in the presence of royalty
Not just talking about Fat Prince, we’re referring to the arrival of the exotic Ava Asante, a descendant of Ghanaian royalty who combines cushy deep house beats with tribal Afro-style vocals and even live violins for added grandeur.
Getting sloshed just got so much more fun
Glugging a variety of drinks is the fastest way to have a good time (you didn’t hear this from us), so you’ll be chuffed to hear that there’ll be a bunch of different themed bars scattered throughout the festival. Get thirsty for a tiki bar serving Milagros tequila, Sailor Jerry spiced rum and Monkey Shoulder whisky; and a Red Bull bar with tropical cocktails topped with extra energy. Feeling classy? Frontera’s wine bar will have you covered too.
Did we mention there’s a giant version of Twister?
We dare you to give this a shot once you’re blissfully inebriated. The Playfields by Guavapass will be hosting Singapore’s largest Twister game, amongst other jolly activities – we hope sack-racing is still a thing. Other hip fringe attractions include a Hoopla birthday party by Lazada, a Zalora photo booth for snaps and merch, March Baby Collective for exclusive tattoos, and a Vaniday x A Better Florist styling corner for face-paint and flower crowns for the hippies-at-heart.
The party doesn’t end at Fort Canning
Haven’t you heard? The night goes on at the official Garden Beats after-party! Keeping the beats bumping and thumping all night at the industrial Sunshine Nation Factory (3 Sentosa Gateway), this post-party party has guest acts, Teenage Mutants, helming the decks with more deep house goodies.
