Join us as we eat our way through Read Bridge this December!
Hit by wanderlust? We know – the holidays feel too short to visit all the places on our bucket list. This year, we’ve found a solution: we’ll satisfy our cravings by eating our way around the world at The Great Clarke Quay FEASTival. This inaugural pop-up food festival will be happening from 5 to 9 December (6pm to 11pm daily) and we’re stoked to bring you all the juicy deets. With 15 food booths and live music, Read Bridge will be lit (literally, too).
Here are some of the countries you can experience by way of food…
Spain – Octapas
Dig into this tapas bar’s spectacular seafood paella (pictured top), followed by a sinful dose of churros and a generous coating of cinnamon sugar, and end your night with a glass of chilled sangria.
Mexico – Señor Taco
Señor Taco shows us what an authentic taqueria is all about. Grab a chicken or pork taco al pastor and margarita as you enjoy the riverside view. Feeling peckish? Chomp on some nachos with chili, jalapenos, cheese and beans.
Germany – Deutschlander
Dig into comfort food from Germany with the classic pork knuckle with sauerkraut. Wash it all down with Paulaner Beer for the full German experience.
Brazil – Rodizio Do Brazil
If you’re in the mood for a hearty meal, sink your teeth into traditional Brazilian-style meats, such as cupin (beef hump), slow-roasted and served with greens doused in vinaigrette. Or, get the grilled pork sausage, hot-dog style, with your choice of dressing for a meaty supper.
Asian Fusion – Harry’s
At Harry’s, guests can enjoy their favourite gourmet treats and tipples inspired by extensive travels! Enjoy the juicy Jazz Burger filled with beef patty, double cheese, iceberg lettuce, and tomato slices. Or check out the chicken wrap with sesame mayonnaise – an exclusive made with tortilla skin, jalapeños cheese sauce and furikake.
Hong Kong – Tsui Wah
If you can’t take to the streets of Mong Kok to suss out the delicacies there, tasting them at Tsui Wah is the next best thing. Traditional Hong Kong fare takes centre stage, with must-tries including the signature pork chop bun, crispy bun with condensed milk, as well as the crowd favourite iced milk tea.
Japan – Ramen Keisuke Lobster King
Ramen Keisuke Lobster King ups the ante by creating a broth using French lobsters for that additional umami. Slurping down a bowl of ramen soaked in this deliciously rich broth with a perfectly soft boiled ajitama (flavored egg) is our idea of comfort food.
Southeast Asia & China – East Treasure Chinese Restaurant
This restaurant serves familiar Chinese dishes like KL Hokkien mee, as well as more uncommon picks like the double-oiled tonic soup with crocodile meat. Craving an ice-cold beer? Try the Laoshan imported premium beer or a Tsingtao.
Fun and drinks – Cuba Libre, The Pump Room, RedTail Bar by Zouk and more
Looking for tipples? Cuba Libre’s serving premium spirits, wines and mojitos; The Pump Room boasts some of the best craft brews in Clarke Quay; while Red Tail mixes up unique concoctions like the dos Americanos (a cold brew base mixed with Campari, Sherry Fino and Grand Marnier).
For nightly DJ and live music performances on stage, head to by Deutschlander, Cask & Bangers, Cuba Libre, Señor Taco, McGettigan’s and Attica for some beats to lift your spirits.
And what’s a festival without some fun and games? Hop on the giant see-saw or jump into the ball pit to work off the food. Give the daily lucky draws a shot and you might even win a staycation!
