We’re well and truly obsessed with what Fritz Hansen has brought to this luxury showroom...
Just when we thought we could cut down on our jaunts to the Tan Boon Liat enclave, W Atelier is tempting us with the gorgeous Fritz Hansen Lounge. In typical Fritz Hansen-style, expect a tonne of covetable classics, a smattering of novelties, and a whole lotta luxury.
Designer Jaime Hayon has set a luxe yet homely mood for this mid-century Scandi space and we’re totally here for it. Playing off the colours of the artworks on the walls, muted tones headline the showroom’s cosy palette. Look out for the different zones, easily identifiable by the accent walls in olive, apricot, cream, or aquamarine – the space is discreetly segmented to showcase individual scenes that’ll inspire the decor of your own crib.
Amidst the clean lines and artisanal craftsmanship, the Spanish designer’s JH97 lounge chair – which he launched at Milan Design Week – is also on display. Treat it like you might a piece of art, because it certainly looks and feels like one. Fun fact: this unique iteration of a classic Danish lounge chair was inspired by the shape of a pelican… who would’ve thought?
Hayon’s signature emotion-provoking pieces form part of the Contemporary Collection, alongside designs by the likes of Cecilie Manz, Hiromichi Konno and Jehs+Lab. For the Classic Collection, we’re name-dropping Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjærholm, Hans J. Wegner and Piet Hein just to whet your appetite.
With this illustrious list of designers, expect to spot a number of showstopping Milan Fair pieces that will elevate the look of any space: we’re talking timeless beauties that promise to make everything else in their presence look tastefully considered.
Fancy having a piece of furniture that you could pass down for generations? Jacobsen’s Egg chair is a strong contender for an heirloom-worthy piece. This legendary design is so timeless, it’s stayed relevant for decades since its creation (which was back in 1958, mind you). Will this ever go out of style? We think not. And while we’re on the topic, his Swan and Drop chairs have us all heart-eyed too. Now, if only we had room for all these chairs in our home…
