Drop everything! Artbox Singapore is back with more Instagrammable spots, colourful snacks, quirky knick-knacks, and thankfully, space...
UPDATE: Artbox Singapore is officially in full swing! They’ve expanded the area by a little and included zones for chilling, eating and artsy photo ops, and there’s definitely more space to stroll around without an anxiety attack.

In out walkabout, we spotted over 80 F&B stalls in the market and a bunch of quirky stores selling wares. Though it’ll be on for two weekends, we’d suggest that you best be ready to brave crowds, rain, the humidity and also possess the patience of a saint when tackling queues, avid Instagrammers and pesky customers who hog the displays (without buying anything sometimes…). All the best!

It’s hard not to catch us lurking at the latest flea markets and shopping pop-ups. Anything with Instagrammable spots and wacky snacks? Count us in. But having them altogether in one massive space at Bayfront? We’ll be there, pronto. And folks, the hype is real: the buzzy Artbox Singapore returns on 25 to 27 May and 1 to 3 June. This time, bigger and (fingers crossed) better.

The city’s take on Bangkok’s highly-raved flea market is an Instagram dream filled with fairy lights, decked out shipping containers, creative art installations and a kaleidoscope of edibles to bless your feed — think colourful sweet treats from Cereal Citizen, Dragon’s Breath candy from Tio Smoke, mustard-dripping hot dogs from befrank, and ombre beverages from The Juicy Way.

Big on showcasing rad creations, over 400 of Singapore and Thailand’s under-the-radar entrepreneurs and designers will be setting up booths to sell their wares, including on-trend fashion pieces, vintage threads, handmade jewellery and accessories, hand-painted art, quirky thingamajigs, gorgeous home products, and plenty of tote bags — come on, who doesn’t like totes? Thai designers such as Porky Studio, Moonset and Nokkajib will be making a cameo with their creations, too. Bringing you more variety, the vendor line-up will rotate every weekend, so keep your eyes peeled!

Not much of a spender? Park yourself at its lounge area where you can chill out in hammocks or on crate seats while enjoying live music performances by local bands. If you prefer a drink in hand, head over to the beer garden for Thailand’s renowned lager Singha Beer.
If last year’s disaster still haunts you (check out what went down), fret not. The team behind Artbox Singapore has given us their word on expanding the event space this year to accommodate huge crowds, spanning over 140,000 square feet which is three times bigger than last year’s! Unfortunately, these mortals aren’t capable of controlling the weather, so brace yourself for any rain that day.
The luxe ‘pasar malam’ will be taking on the theme of Oasis this year. Not sure how it’ll look like just yet, but we doubt it has anything to do with swaggering up in your Pretty Green parka.
Artbox Singapore 2018, 25-17 May & 1-3 June 2018, 3pm-11pm, Bayfront Event Space, Marina Bay (next to Marina Bay Sands)
