Budding plant lover or seasoned green thumb, there’s something for everyone at the floriculture haven this Christmas.
Have you started spotting twinkling festive lights and holiday decor on your streets? With November almost behind us, we can’t wait to welcome the most wonderful time of the year. Best believe our calendars are already lining up with the hottest things to do and festive events in town. If you’re scouring for places to add to your list, here’s one: Far East Flora Centre is calling with live Christmas tree sales, holiday workshops and more. Scroll on to unveil everything you can do at this botanical paradise!
1. Bring home live Christmas trees
Ask what’s on our festive to-do list and shopping for Christmas trees will come up top. From finding the perfect fir tree to spending a day jazzing it up with baubles and lights, it’s the perfect excuse for bonding time with our loved ones. With its sprawling selection of live Christmas trees, Far East Flora Centre is our go-to spot.
Imported from the US, the Noble and Nordmann Firs come in a variety of sizes (from 4 feet to a majestic 12 feet) to suit different spaces. Thanks to the strong and sturdy branches, these trees boast a full, layered appearance and can hold up heavy ornaments to make a magnificent home centrepiece. Coupled with the silvery sheen on its needles and its strong pine and citrusy scent, the trees remind us of a cosy snowed-in Christmas.
We’d also recommend picking up some poinsettias. The vibrant red flowers are a holiday classic and sure to add cheer to your abodes. Snag these trees and blooms online, via the Far East Flora app, or at the retail stores – live trees will only be available in-store from 26 November onwards. Psst: don’t miss out on early bird promotions for the live Christmas trees from now till 30 November!
2. Roll up your sleeves at festive craft workshops
In the spirit of the holiday season, how about spending quality time with your family or closest buds? Save a spot at fun-filled workshops with a dose of nature that all ages will enjoy.
On 30 November and 1 December, join the holiday poinsettia kokedama workshop and try your hand at creating a unique festive plant art. Priced at $55 per pax, the hour-long session will take you through the basics of moss ball making, plant care and design while you sip on artisan coffee. Or, check out other craft sessions like Christmas terrarium making for more hands-on fun.
3. Let the kiddos get up close with Santa
No Christmas celebration is complete without the holly jolly man in red. Bring the little ones to Far East Flora Centre for a meet-and-greet with good ol’ Santa and snap some photos for the memories. Get your holiday wish list ready and say hello to Mr. Claus at the basement gallery on 30 November 2024, from 2pm to 4pm, and 1 December 2024, from 3pm to 5pm.
Another foolproof way to get in the holiday spirit? Add some shimmer or festive motifs like reindeers, candy canes and snowflakes on your faces! Holiday face painting will be available at the basement gallery on 7 and 8 December so drop by anytime from 2pm to 4pm.
4. Pick up all your holiday knick-knacks
Far East Flora Centre may be known as a botanical paradise, but it has more than just flowers and plants. Get your house ready for Christmas with its top-quality furniture pieces (think plant stands, moss wall art and stone figurines), water features and other essentials.
Plus, get rewarded with a free succulent workshop when you shop up a storm. Simply spend a minimum of $100 to participate in the workshop on 23 and 24 November 2024, from 10am to 12pm. The promotion is applicable to the first 20 customers so get to shopping, stat!
5. Savour a sumptuous festive spread
Famished after an entire day of workshops and shopping? Fuel up and rest your feet at Far East Flora Centre’s cafe, F’east. Decked out with lush foliage, this cafe makes an ideal spot for a quick respite.
You can’t go wrong with its all-day brunch and pasta selection, but we’d recommend the festive specials: Confit Chicken a la Noel (grilled chicken leg with asparagus, cherry tomatoes, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce), paired with a cup of Noel Enchanted Cocoa (a decadent chocolate drink topped with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle and mini marshmallows).
