Singapore Grand Prix 2019 fun facts: We’re zooming into the headliner action (with added vantage points), cool new perks (spa, anyone?), family activities (yes, kids too!) and more…
“This race is always a highlight of the season: a great city, which looks really spectacular under the lights with the tricky street circuit below – my favourite kind of track to drive,” said a five-time Formula 1 World Champion… Okay, so you already know how much Lewis Hamilton loves the Marina Bay circuit, but here are some fun facts about the Singapore Grand Prix 2019 (from 20 to 22 September) that might surprise you!
Elephants and soccer fields
It’s evident that this is a huge event, but how huge is huge? Well, the total area of the circuit park is the size of 80 soccer fields, to be exact.
And to get the race going, 700 tonnes of Formula 1 cargo has to be flown in – in terms of weight, that’s almost as heavy as 280 African elephants!
Round it off to 130 hours
That’s how much entertainment you can pack into three enthralling days of action on 10 stages across the circuit. Sneak peek at the concert line-up: Swedish House Mafia is here to Save The World, Muse will rock the stage under the Starlight, and Gwen Stefani is sure to Wind It Up as always. Can’t Stop like the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Fatboy Slim will inspire you to Eat Sleep Rave Repeat, so dress to kill and get ready for the night!
