Singapore’s annual pinnacle arts festival, the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) is back for its 42nd year with more theatre, music, dance and film. Head to the Esplanade Theatre, Victoria Theatre and many other performance venues including The Arts House (or should we say, the Festival House) for artists talks, workshops and discussions. There will be food and specially curated cocktails available at House Pour, the festival bar.
Culture vultures can savour the best of theatre, dance, music and more at programmes like Berlin dance-maker Sasha Waltz’s provocative signature work, Körper; the gripping psychological melodrama, Beware of Pity; the rave-like dance performance, Crowd; traverse a range of sounds by Grammy-award winning composer, Bill Frisell; and dive into the dreamy local production, A Dream Under the Southern Bough: Reverie. Grab your tickets to these immersive performances, and don’t forget to check out the free programmes and art installations like De Relaxerette, where you can settle into an afternoon nap on a revolving hammock-Ferris wheel.
