From 20 January to 9 February 2025, the restaurant joins in the festivities with auspicious offerings specially created for the occasion: a delectable Octopus Yu Sheng ($88++ for 4 persons) and a refreshing Pineapple Tart Mocktail ($17++, subject to availability).
Octopus Yu Sheng
The Octopus Yu Sheng features Sichuan influences like Yu Xiang dressing known for its distinctive blend of sweet, sour, spicy, and savoury flavours as well as with crispy Ma Hua flakes. The choice of protein, octopus, is particularly auspicious when translated to Mandarin, alluding to the lucky number eight and ‘yu’ meaning fish, signifying surplus and abundance. Sous vide and lightly charred octopus tentacles are paired with a medley of julienned vegetables, grapefruit segments, endives, microgreens, edible flowers, and caramelised ground peanuts, signifying a prosperous and sweet year ahead.
Pineapple Tart Mocktail
Raise a toast to good luck and wealth with the Pineapple Tart Mocktail, specially concocted for the festivities. This bright golden drink features pineapple juice, ginger beer, soda, and a hint of butterscotch; when combined, the resulting drink is both sweet and tart, with a soft buttery fragrance that perfectly captures the essence of everyone’s favourite Lunar New Year snack. Those looking to add an extra kick can top up $8++ to spike the mocktail with rum.
