No one teaches you how to be an adult, you’re just expected to pick it up somewhere along the way. This series is designed to teach you not only how to talk the talk, but actually walk the adult walk. Don’t be shy – we’re all going through these growing pains together. Each workshop will have a different theme and speaker to help you feel confident in your adult-ing life.
In this edition of our “How to Adult” series, we’ll be showing you how to get your financials together. This includes looking ahead for the future, setting financial goals, investing 101 and more. Get tips on how to budget and plan for the big “adult” purchases you will eventually make (a car, a pet, maybe even a house?). Learn about credit ratings and credit cards and how they will affect you in the future, figure out what the heck the deal is with investing, and start learning about insurance (boring, we know – but it matters.)
Financial adulting may seem hard – but when you know the fundamentals, it becomes a lot less scary.
You will learn:
– How credit cards work, credit risk and when and how to apply for your first credit card
– Saving and budgeting skills
– The basics of investing
– How to get on top of insurance and superannuation, and why they are important
