Iyengar Yoga is named after and developed by B.K.S. Iyengar. It is a form of Hatha Yoga known for its use of props, such as wooden gadgets, belts and ropes to help practitioners achieve correct alignment and a deeper understanding of yoga postures. Through the practice of a system of asanas, Iyengar yoga aims to unite the body, mind and spirit to achieve overall strength, mobility and stability.
