The hotel celebrates all things durian with six new D24 durian desserts and a commemoration cake to celebrate Singapore Bicentennial
Two words: durian everything – this is our mantra come March through July as Durian Fiesta 2019 is back in town. Goodwood Park Hotel will be churning out the most divine durian creations ever from 15 March to 14 July and we can’t wait to indulge in the king of fruit.
D24 and Mao Shang Wang durians sit front and centre as the five-star hotel brings us six new D24 durian desserts along with four mainstays (yes, your faves are back!) and ‘Mao Shan Wang’ durian pastries. Tuck into sweet treats like D24 royale cheesecake ($28 for 350 grams) – velvety durian mousse with melt-in-your-mouth cream cheese and D24 pandan lapis coconut cake ($16 per slice, $88 for a whole cake) with durian mousse, pandan sponge, cream frosting and coconut flakes. Matcha with durian? Yes, they went there. Try the D24 matcha mont blanc tart ($14.80++ for two tarts if you’re dining in or $42 for six tarts) an intricately-made dome-shaped tart with pistachio, white chocolate tuile, matcha sponge, matcha and chestnut mousse filling with a dollop of durian pulp.
Of course, star desserts like D24 mousse cake ($14 per slice and from $79 for whole cakes), D24 puff ($10++ for two pieces if you’re dining in, $28 for six pieces or $45 for 10 pieces), and D24 ice cream ($20 per 16 oz tub) make a comeback that’s well worth the wait.
But if you’re all about robust flavours, deep dive into the Mao Shan Wang madness from 4 May to 14 July with the Mao Shan Wang mousse cake ($72 for 500 grams) and Mao Shan Wang power puff ($22.80 per piece). We ‘mao shan wang’ more, please?
The durian party doesn’t stop there. To celebrate Singapore Bicentennial, Goodwood Park Hotel is launching the D24 Singapore commemoration cake ($88, 1kg), a mix of gula melaka, coffee, pandan and durian flavours, topped with white chocolate squares imprinted with historical scenes of Singapore and the hotel. Only 200 cakes are available with an advance order of five days so act fast!
