Here’s one strong reason to shop and donate secondhand jewellery and accessories at the “Re-Embrace” Charity Drive 2018
Now here’s a major pow-wow of female empowerment that lends a hand or two to our sisters. We love championing trailblazing women, but real support also means doing our bit for charity. After its successful run last year, the “Re-Embrace” Charity Drive returns with Singapore Council of Women’s Organisation (SCWO) to create awareness of the latter’s Star Shelter and its cause. Spearheaded by local multi-label jewellery store Embrace Jewellery, the charity drive will run from now until 8 May, in conjunction with International Women’s Day.
The charity drive encourages donations of pre-loved jewellery and accessories which will then be resold at SCWO’s New2U Thrift Shop. Proceeds from the sale will go towards Star Shelter and other SCWO initiatives. The Star Shelter alleviates the harsh situations faced by women and children who have survived domestic abuse by providing sanctuary and temporary refuge.
If you’re looking for new wrist candy, why not shop with a cause? A first for the charity drive, beaded bracelets handmade by the girl bosses of Star Shelter will be sold at $25 each, and are available in three exclusive colours — brown, black and blue. It also comes with a card insert scribed with the special meaning behind the charm attached. The bracelets are only available in limited quantities at Kai Life and Embrace+, so best snap them up quick before they’re all gone!
But if you’ve got plenty of gorgeous goodies to spare, donate your pre-loved jewellery and accessories like necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, cufflinks, anklets and brooches to the Embrace Jewellery, Kai Life and Embrace+ stores. Be mindful that no gold, white gold or diamond jewellery are accepted, and that all donations must be in good condition — that means no scratches, chips or tarnishes! There’s no minimum amount for the donation, so go crazy and give away as much as you like. Plus, with every three or more pieces contributed, you’ll receive a $5 voucher and be eligible for Embrace Jewellery’s weekly lucky draw where you’ll be one step closer to winning prizes worth over a total of $3,000 — all in the name of a good cause, of course.
