Photophactory
Step into Design Orchard and you’ll see canvas prints of Singapore’s cultural enclaves and oft-photographed Peranakan shophouses perched on a few chosen shelves. These beautiful images from Photophactory are captured by the woman behind Valley Arora Photography, who immortalises local street corners and iconic landmarks by printing them on everything from trays to clutches.
Singapore Memories
Research says scent triggers memories, so it’s no wonder we love gifting Singapore Memories’ fragrances to our friends and family when they end their stay in our city. Yes, we’re talking Singapore-inspired scents like Ion, with notes of Brassavola Orchids and herbs; or Kampong Glam, featuring rich amber and Oud notes inspired by the incense of the iconic Mosque.
The Animal Project
Big shoutout to The Animal Project (TAP) for all the good vibes they’re bringing to our shores. This social enterprise gives artists with special needs a platform to showcase and earn royalties from their work, while also donating at least half of all profits to charities. If you’re all for supporting businesses with a cause (and snagging a whimsy hornbill tote bag at the same time), definitely shop their range of animal-themed products in store.
Evenodd
Flowy fabrics and contemporary cuts make Evenodd’s line the perfect go-to for airy wardrobe staples that’ll take us through summery seasons, while the collection of casual totes and pouches are excellent finds that help us organise our everyday essentials. If pared-down designs are your kind of thing, this label’s fuss-free pieces will be right up your alley.
