Here’s a soothing soundtrack to keep you company at home.
Reluctant to leave the house? Working from home more often these days? Perhaps you’re also feeling worried and anxious about the COVID-19 pandemic and its widespread impact on countries, economies and families. We’re all in the same boat (though keeping an appropriate distance from one another). So to keep you company, we’ve strung together a little playlist to the quaran-tune of commiseration and cheer.
It’s got just the right amount of socially responsible rules: Keep your hands clean, practice good personal hygiene, stand further apart from one another, work remotely, and put an end to your wandering days (because travel’s a no-no right now). MC Hammer totally got it right: You can’t touch this. Or that. Or those things in the corner. And definitely not your face.
Mix that in with a dash of melancholic beats – since misery loves company – and some tongue-in-cheek fun to ease up a serious situation. Because everyone now knows the feeling of dread when they hear someone in the vicinity coughing or sneezing without a mask on. (‘You Make Me Sick’ by Pink has never been more popular.)
But really, at the end of the day, home is best. That’s how we’ll all be stayin’ alive, in the words of the mighty Bee Gees. To give you a mood-booster, we’ve thrown in some inspirational jams about keeping the community spirit up and running, shaking off the fear and panic, and rising above it all. Because it’s just a matter of time before we beat this. Like a certain high school kid once belted out, we’re all in this together!
