From attractions at Universal Studios Singapore to lights along Orchard Road, here’s the lowdown of the best (and most festive) Christmas events happening in Singapore
Can you feel it? Christmas is right at our doorstep! That’s right, it’s that magical time of year where our cityscape is decked with twinkling lights, Christmas carollers and shoppers scrambling for prezzies. But don’t feel overwhelmed by the Yuletide frenzy! We’ve assembled a little list of must-dos to get you and your squad in peak festive mode!
Bring the whole squad down to Gardens by the Bay Christmas Wonderland
Marina Bay’s own little Eden will be lit up to the nines with an array of dazzling light displays and festivities that’ll guarantee a slew of picture-perfect memories with the squad. Walk amongst the iconic Supertrees as you hop from one attraction to the next, such as the straight-out-of-Disney Ice Palace, the sprawling festive market, and the showstopping Luminarie Lights – all as you’re serenaded by the melodic stylings of joyous Christmas carollers. We promise it’ll be anything but a silent night!

Have a festive feast with your pals
You need all the energy you can get if you’re out painting the town red this Christmas, and we can’t think of a better festive fuel-up than this banquet at Kwee Zeen. Night owls should swoop down on the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day buffet dinners with highlights like baked leg of ham in apple sauce and handcrafted dessert creations that include the resort’s An Exotic Log Cake, and not forgetting a free flow of Champagne, wines and classic Glühwein. Or if you partied too hard on Xmas Eve and need to recover from that hangover, Kwee Zeen’s Christmas Day brunch should perk you up with live seafood, black truffle brie cheese, foie gras terrine, turkey, slow-cooked tomahawk and many more scrumptious goodies. Y’know what they say: a squad that eats together stays together!
Kwee Zeen, Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, 2 Bukit Manis Road Sentosa, Singapore 099891, p. 6708 8360. The Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner buffets are priced at $158++ (or $188++ for free-flow booze), and the Christmas Day brunch is priced at $218++ (or $258++ with free-flow booze).
Partake in a night of record-breaking merrymaking at Universal Studios
Get ready to be starry-eyed this holiday season when you and your pals hop down South to Universal Studios Singapore’s All-Star Christmas. The famed theme park brings your Christmas fantasies to life with eight thematic zones, that are currently a Guinness World Records’ Holder for the largest lightbulb display indoors. There’s also a Santa’s Village to explore (complete with Santa’s little helpers and a talking reindeer), and don’t forget to end your day of merrymaking on a high note with a special Christmas live show featuring the cast of the Minions, the Snow Queen and more!

Stuff your senses with festive food and carols at St. Andrew’s Cathedral
Where else better to enjoy Christmas carols than in a church? St. Andrew’s Cathedral promises a fun-filled Christmas programme every year, with plenty of festive food and carolling found within its historic premises.

Get lit along Orchard Road
For spectacularly elaborate Christmas lights that stretch across 3.8km, there’s always Christmas on a Great Street – an annual attraction that lights up Orchard Road. Singapore’s famed shopping belt transforms into a galaxy of colourful twinkling stars, glowing reindeer and luminous Christmas trees. Starting from The Cathay all the way to ION Orchard, this festive route will marvel you with innovative set pieces and decorated mall facades that will be participating in the annual best dressed mall contest. Don’t miss the magical Christmas on A Great Street Light-Up Ceremony on 12 November at Ngee Ann City Plaza!

Have yourselves a jolly good time in the deep blue
Sometimes, the whole white Christmas theme can get a little played out – so why not change the scenery at SEA Aquarium? Be on the lookout for the famed Scuba Santa and Elf that might just make their sporadic appearances amongst the fishes. You’ll even be able to do a little good over (farewell, naughtiness!) at their Sea Protector Activity Stations, where you’ll learn about endangered marine animals in our oceans and how you can do your part to help – our hearts are growing three sizes just thinking about it!
