Print prose on demand, meet the Singaporean authors, buy local literature and join a street party at this year’s #BuySingLit…
There’s nothing we like more than a good book and a cup of tea. And bookworms like us are always extra stoked this time of the year. Pencil in #BuySingLit 2019 – a nationwide initiative that shines a bright spotlight on Singaporean authors and books – and get ready to dive into an extensive range of programmes (there are over 80!) to celebrate local literature. Back for the third year running, this edition promises to be the biggest one yet and will be held over two weekends: 8 to 10 March and 15 to 17 March. Avid readers and aspiring Catherine Lims, are you with us?
The printer that surprises you with beautiful prose
Want a quick way to discover new authors, or indulge in a little reading while on the go? Sing Lit Cloud lets you print a SingLit extract with the click of a button. Three of these printers will be rolled out during #BuySingLit starting 8 March. We hear that they’ll be first stationed at Our Tampines Hub, Mapletree Business City and library@Harbourfront – so if you’re in the area, give it a go! To find out which locations they’ll be rotated to, keep your eyes peeled for updates on the #BuySingLit website.
We’re off to Yong Siak Street for a literary party
Bookend the #BuySingLit week with a street party at Yong Siak Street. Anticipate performances, readings, exclusive book launches, and the chance to be acquainted with your favourite local authors (more than 40 of them will be there) over ice cream and coffee.
