BoConcept is serving up some serious interior design inspo with a newly revamped showroom that puts this season’s design trends in the spotlight…
From the month of October, designer furniture brand, BoConcept brings elements of Metropolitan and Scandinavian styles to your home with their latest collection. Wondering what these looks are all about? Before you can visit the showroom to see these styles in action, let’s break it down.
Design lovers the world over have fallen hard for Scandinavian-style homes. This is characterised by a minimalist look and beautiful functionality: think white walls (tell us you haven’t seen this all over Instagram), clean lines, muted colours, along with complementary materials such as marble and light oak.
On the other hand, the Metropolitan style spans a wide spectrum, from understated looks bordering on Scandinavian minimalism, to sophisticated glamour that is reminiscent of a luxury hotel suite (à la Eric Kuster). It can combine industrial, minimalist, and even edgier pieces: everything from shiny velvet fabrics to concrete floors and black metal frames are fair game. But what defines the Metropolitan look is the overall concept of chic city living – a modern 21st-century style.
Of course, most homes don’t fit completely into just one design concept, and the fun lies in mixing and matching elements of different styles to create a look unique to your own space. We’re spotlighting some of our fave looks pieced together by BoConcept’s experts.
White space
Here’s a tip for those with compact homes: white walls and glass furniture creates the illusion of more space. Varying tones make for a smart way to do colour-on-colour without it becoming visually boring. The combination of sharp lines and sweeping curves throughout the room is the best part.
Rethink pink
Baby pink walls provide a more interesting update to a neutral room, while maroon accents inject additional colour and verve. Along with vintage-esque door frames juxtaposed with modern black furniture, the effect is pure #workspacegoals.
Go to the dark side
Here’s proof that a dark palette doesn’t have to be read as dull. In fact, this black-walled space evokes a sophisticated, luxe vibe with the brown leather sofa anchoring the room, complete with touches of greenery that add a sense of lightness.
It’s only natural
Speaking of green, how pretty is this room? We spy colour-coordinated books: black, white, and pastel peach is always a winning combo. Plus, the red side table goes perfectly with the teal feature wall and minimal grey pieces. The devil’s in the details, as they say.
What we love about BoConcept’s designs is that they are sophisticated yet simple, with each piece versatile enough to complement a range of interior styles. For instance, the Osaka sofa (one of their bestsellers!) can stand out as an accent piece for a primarily minimalistic space, or blend in seamlessly to a mid-century modern home to complete the interior.
