Best Singapore gyms for HIIT fitness classes

Best Singapore gyms for HIIT fitness classes

Step up your fitness game this year with a fat-blitzing, action-packed HIIT class

It’s still really early in the year, so there’s no better time than the present to kickstart your New Year fitness resolutions. Got a busy year ahead? That’s no excuse for sacrificing your workouts. The solution: High intensity interval training (HIIT). For newbies, these workouts usually range between 20 to 45 minutes, and features a combination of bodyweight training (sans machines) with a focus on strength and extreme cardio. Here are the best gyms in Singapore for HIIT classes.

Level’s Midday Madness
While Level Gym in the heart of the CBD is a slick operation, with top-class instructors and innovative equipment in an oh-so-trendy space, it’s also very accessible and welcoming to all. Level is reserved for personal training and classes only, which means that the stylish, airy gym has lots of space and the instructors can focus carefully on you during your bootcamp workout. Level hosts a variety of interesting, original workouts, but it’s the 30-minute Midday Madness that’ll whoop your bod into serious shape. Having experienced this umpteen times, you can expect this to be a killer workout, with an outdoor warm-up if you’re lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you see it). You’ll be split into small groups to tackle a series of movements, which will use your bodyweight, dumbbells, kettlebells and other equipment.

Level, 137 Telok Ayer Street #01-03, Singapore 068602, p. 6222 4766.

Still
From the people behind Guavalabs comes Still Yoga and Still 30/30: two new wellness concepts located in a 5000 square foot space at OUE Downtown Gallery. At Still 30/30, a HIIT class like no other is available. It’ll kick off with a 30-minute high-intensity interval training session of calorie-burning burpees and squats, followed by a half hour yoga class to cool you down and stretch out any knots and tense muscles. Our editor Selina has personally experienced this, and swears it’s a killer workout that’s designed to make you fit AF.

Ritual Gym
Only one workout is offered at the Ritual Gym, and it’s one that promises you’ll be in and out in 30 minutes. With nary a treadmill (or any machine for that matter) in sight, the ‘30 minute gym’ relies on a 20 minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) combining cardio and strength training. No matter how often you pop in, every workout is specially planned to guarantee that you’re maximising your time, effort and muscles. The best part? You’re burning way more fat that way than an hour spent sweating it out on the treadmill. Score!

Higher Ground’s Hybrid Training
Higher Ground’s Hybrid Training is a tad longer than the others, but it delivers incredible results. Don’t expect your workouts to be stagnant, as it depends on the program of the day and frequently combines a variety of workouts including power plate training and TRX suspension. The result? Your body will constantly be working hard and stimulated, avoiding a plateau and making sure you have a well-balanced fitness regime.

UFIT’s QuickFit
Don’t let your hectic day be in the way of your fitness. UFIT brings the workout to all you CBD bees, with an outdoor routine at Marina Bay. The 45 minutes sesh will see you doing the whole gamut of cardio and strength training including planking, push ups and more.

CrossFit Singapore’s Boot Camp
You’ll find only quality coaching here which we promise, won’t be compromised with express 45-minute workouts. Here, you’ll expect the traditional garage gym and functional movements based on gymnastics, weightlifting, rowing and running. What Crossfit devotees swear by here though (aside from the effectiveness of the workouts) is the sense of community and camaraderie to get you through the most gruelling of reps.

Crossfit Singapore, #01-23, CT Hub 2, 114 Lavender Street, Singapore 338729.

F45
F45’s HIIT sessions are no walk in the park. The Firestorm: Internal Circuit workout features 54 stations (yes you read that right), while the Hollywood: Circuit incorporates a 45 minute high intensity interval circuit around 27 stations, which will put your strength, core stability and endurance through the ultimate test.

F45, Locations in Amoy Street, Rochor, Tiong Bahru and more.

Haus Athletics’ Meltdown and Leanout
This all-new fitness boutique space specialises in 45-minute high intensity conditioning workouts. Meltdown features sports style conditioning drills with each session differing from the other to constantly keep your body guessing. Leanout, on the other hand, focuses on total body strength with big bursts of cardio to help your build long, lean muscles and whip you into a fat blitzing machine.
