Wanna keep everyone hyped for the June Holidays? The colourful Faber-Castell Art Festival might just be the family adventure you need, happening at Marina Square from 27 May to 4 June
Colour the town red (or any colour you like, really!) at the Faber-Castell Art Festival 2017, happening from 27 May to 4 June! Renowned makers of coloured pencils, and other assorted products for art and design, Faber-Castell will be presenting the inaugural festival at Marina Square in a – get this – castle setting. With lots of illustrations, workshops from established artists, an exhibition (where you can buy the art), and even a chance to get into the Singapore Book of Records, this kaleidoscopic event has everything you’d wanna see in an art festival. Here are some of our personal highlights.
Two record-breaking events
Faber-Castell will be aiming for the accolades of “Biggest Mosaic by Colour Markers” and “Longest Banner of Human Figurine Sketches”, and you get to play a part. Time to earn (and draw) those stripes.
Interactive workshops with creatives
Pick up new skills or learn to write and draw from the likes of artists like brush-lettering maestros Neh Oh Mee and Abbey Sy, fashion illustrator Clayrene Chan, and pin-maker Puffingmuffin – just to name a few!
An art exhibition for charity
24 works by local artists will be on display at the festival, and if you fancy any of them, you can go right ahead and purchase the art. Proceeds from the sales will go to the Children’s Cancer Foundation, so you’ll be helping a cause as well.
