Here's something to look forward to in February - Ubud's best restaurant is popping up in Emilie for a two-week stint!
It’s no secret that Emilie is one of our old time favourite restaurants in Jakarta and we’ve just been given one more reason to love this mainstay even more. The fine dining restaurant is hosting Ubud’s Locavore for what we’re calling the dining pop-up of the year, and it’s only February. Usually permanently booked months in advance, Locavore is taking over Emilie’s dinner service for two weeks from Monday 19 February to Sunday 4 March – so if you’ve been trying and failing to get a seat at the table, here is your chance to finally try the award-winning innovative restaurant for yourself. And instead of booking a flight to Bali, all you have to do is drive to Senopati.
The casual Modern European restaurant famous for its inventive menu that uses exclusively hyper-local ingredients was the only restaurant in Indonesia to ever make it into the Asia’s 50 Best list. In Ubud, chefs Eelke and Ray have been winning the hearts (and stomachs) of diners since 2013 with their ingredient-based Locavore and Herbivore tasting menus. On our turf, the chefs are cooking up a different 7-course menu inspired by the markets in Jakarta. No word yet on what dishes are in store, but one thing’s for certain, we’re sure the surprise will be worth it.
Tickets to this foodie pop-up are guaranteed to sell out fast, and it would be tragedy not to get in line. We highly recommend booking your spot, stat.
Locavore comes to Jakarta is on 19 February to 4 March. 7-course tasting menu IDR 895,000++ and IDR 1,495,000++ with drinks pairing. Reserve your spot online here.
