From cheap food to gourmet burger joints, here are the best places to eat on Senopati.
There’s no doubt about it, Senopati is the most happening street in South Jakarta. With new restaurants and bars popping up every season, there’s a dining spot to satisfy any culinary craving and any budget. Whether your wallet strings are feeling a bit tight or if you’re in the mood to splurge, in Senopati, you can truly have it all. Now, the only thing we need are some sidewalks so we can actually walk from one hot spot to the other. From dessert parlours to Japanese joints, here are our favourite places to eat and drink on Senopati.
Perched on the far end of Senopati, Ruci’s Joint is a cool collaborative café serving a smorgasbord of all-day grub. Whether you’re craving cheap dim sum, looking for healthy smoothie bowls the colour of the rainbow, or in need of a quick caffeine fix, you’ll find everything you need to eat right here.

Pao Pao Liquor Bar and Dimsum Parlour
Pao Pao is not your typical mid-day yum cha. This happening spot serves dim sum with an edge, served for the after-work crew with a side of excellent Asian-inspired tipples. Their 50 Cans of Grey cocktail is a must-try, an excellent mixture of gin, lychee, Earl Grey and lemon ginger honey syrup. You’ll want to book a table with your crew on the weekend where dim sum is followed by drinks and dancing.

Colette and Lola
Colette and Lola serves OTT sugary treats that will hit the sweet spot. Just a warning: you will get sugar rush at this sweet dessert parlour! Unlike most dining spots on this happening street, Izakaya Issei is practically hidden from view. One of Senopati’s most underrated spots, this cosy Japanese izakaya is a neighbourhood gem and the perfect place to destress after a hectic Jakarta day. All you need is a stellar round of sake and its famous Gyu-tandon (topped generously with chilli) to keep you satisfied.

Three Buns is our ultimate go-to for doing cheat day the right way. This burger joint churns out killer cocktails and bad boy burgers with funky names like Honky Tonk (with soya milk fried chicken patty) and Piggie Smalls (with twiced cooked pork belly). The ultimate double decker burger goes by the name of Four Floors, double the beef patties and cheese, and triple the onions and the works. If that’s not enough calories for you, grab an order of their Naughty Fries, loaded with spiced béarnaise, beef chilli, shallots and parmesan and sesame seeds. Ooh, yes.

Emilie French Restaurant
We’re sure by now you’re familiar with Emilie French Restaurant. This fine dining restaurant is practically a Senopati icon, having been quietly serving excellent French fare to diners since before Senopati was the trendy food haven it is today. Emilie is passionate about serving fine food with a care and finesse that diners will definitely not see on other restaurants on the strip. Perfect for date nights and special occasions, Emilie is intimate and unpretentious, with clean modern furnishings that allow exceptionally plated dishes to stand out. Just see their herb crusted lamb – a gorgeous garden party on a plate. Emilie’s menu is seasonal with set tasting menus and weekend brunches also on offer.
