A more personal and fun approach to fitness
You’ve already done the hard part: mustering the willpower and making time to work out. You’ve mentally prepared to battle it out on the treadmill no matter how grueling or boring it will be. And how are you rewarded? With an impersonal, indifferent gym that you have already pledged a year of your life to. How about a much better option? Say namaste to the new Raga Studio.
So what’s to love about Raga?
This cozy group exercise studio makes an effort to keep its members, in a nice way. Instead of lengthy contracts and high fees, Raga wants people to come back because they like the classes and see results – not because they feel obliged. The classes are affordable and membership options including monthly payments. Good-bye guilt, hello motivation!
Amazing range of classes
Raga Studio offers a wide range of classes including a bunch of different yoga styles such as Hatha and Ashtanga, Hot (where they turn up the heat, literally!), the yoga-Pilates hybrid Yogalates, and Balance Flow, which combines yoga, tai chi and Pilates to strengthen and build flexibility. Raga also has killer Pilates classes that work the core and will have you sweating before you know it.
For those who want a little more rhythm in their workout, Raga also has belly dancing sessions, a hopping Zumba class (their most popular offering), and Bokwa, a South African dance-based class that rivals Zumba. Try them both and decide for yourself which is the better dance party. Dancing not really your thing? Why not punch and kick some aggression out with Raga’s CombatFit or Muay Thai class.
No matter what your preference is, Raga is a welcoming space and the staff really make an effort to get to know the members’ names and preferences. Also because the studio is still quite small (launched just two months ago), they take the members’ suggestions into consideration when planning the monthly schedule. When was the last time you were heard at the gym?
This personalised feel also extends to the general vibe of the studio. Friendships are being made everyday and it’s not unusual to see members making “dates” to attend classes or sharing a healthy snack after a workout.
Unlike most other group exercise studios, Raga is in Cikini and is easily reachable from the Thamrin, Sudirman, and Kuningan areas. Phew, because we all know that sometimes the hardest part of the workout is just making it to the gym, thanks macet!
Alright honeys, still not sold? Raga is offering a free class to Honeycombers readers so you all can try out this fun and effective approach to fitness for yourselves. What are you waiting for?
