Jakarta World Academy
The Jakarta World Academy’s early childhood program is based on learning through allowing young children to discover and interact with their world. Implementing the Reggio Emilia curriculum for nursery children, the JWA program is taught in English, Bahasa and Mandarin. There are English and Mandarin classes every day as they are currently working together with Beijing University with teachers who are fluent in Mandarin. Toddler “Mother and Baby Classes” for children ages 12-24 months have the option to go to class 2 times per week on Tuesday and Thursday or 3 times per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting from 9.30am – 11.30am. Once you get to Playgroup, Nursery and Kindy classes for children ages 3-6 years, they go to school every day. This Singaporean school focuses on English and Mandarin immersion and encourages children to perform well academically through experiential learning. From an early age, kids are introduced to math concepts such as numbers, patterns, geometry, and data collection and encouraged to have a sense of belonging to a family and community. There are three locations in Jakarta though two branches are located in the North side.
The Netherlands International School is very popular amongst families living in South Jakarta.
