Senopati is so much more than trendy bars and nightclubs. Lucky for us with little ones in tow, there is a rise in kid-friendly cafes popping up in this CBD ‘hood. Read on for our review of Mamain.
Remember the days of going out to the nightclubs, speakeasies, and bars in Senopati well-past midnight? As mummies, we admittedly barely have the strength to stay awake past 9PM these days, and cocktails may very well be replaced with morning coffee, but we still love hanging out in this trendy ‘hood because of how close it is to everything situated in the CBD. Lucky for us, the cafe gods have graced us with a kid-friendly spot that we can still go to and feel like a small part of our life is still the same. Same, but different.
Located in the very prime real-estate spot of Gunawarman, Mamain Cafe is perfect for those of us with babies in tow who want to catch a meal and coffee with friends who are not mummies and may still be fresh from their hangovers. The cafe is perched right above Fujin, and you’ll have to make your way to the second floor so be sure to leave your stroller in the car. The cafe is beautifully decorated with soft pastel colors and small doses of cute like the baby chairs that have bunny tails on them. Mamain also includes an indoor playground equipped with slides and tunnels your kids are sure to run to. Take a seat and order from their menu offering both Western and Indonesian food. We recommend Mamain Cafe’s nasi bakar and for dessert, their mango serabi that includes ice cream you and bub can share. Don’t worry, there are plenty of options on the kids’ menu like their fish and chips and selection of kid-friendly pasta too so you won’t have to pack any food from home.
If you’re having a playdate with other mummies, Mamain’s seating is specially arranged so that you can watch your children play, and a kid’s corner offers a variety of educational play stations like busy boards, plush toys and a collection of books to keep them busy. Planning a birthday party or intimate event? You can even book out the place to throw your small shindig. Details like the nursing room for mummies who need to pump or breastfeed, bottle warmers, a changing table and even a Haenim sterilizer, are what makes Mamain a cafe a mum can appreciate. Most importantly, it’s a cafe that makes you feel like you’re in a familiar neighborhood and appreciate the fact that you are now able to enjoy the different things that now make you a mummy.
