We visited Little Boss Play and Eat impressed and wanting more. Read on below for a review of Jakarta’s newest indoor playground!
Playgrounds have come a long way since our time and Little Boss Play and Eat is no exception. Located all the way in Taman Anggrek (the mall with giant LED screens that you pass by on the way to the airport), this giant indoor playground features every fun activity a kid can dream of, from arcades to a jungle gym and a larger-than-life ball pit to mini cafe. On a weekday, three hours of fun will set parents back a cool IDR 120,000, but it will be worth it once you see how much fun your little one is having.
Three hours may seem excessive at first, but those hours will fly by. Your toddler enters the playground by first taking off their shoes, changing into socks and stepping into a hallway where the floors light up, leading to the great big playground. Does your kid love ball pits? You’re in luck. Little Boss Play and Eat has the biggest ball pit we’ve ever been in and even has a contraption that sucks balls into a large UFO hanging from the ceiling. Then, with a magical press of a button, your toddler can release all the balls back into the pit, falling from the sky. Needless to say, our minds were blown.
That’s not at all – Little Boss Play and Eat also has stations for busyboards, games, sand pits, lego pits, and a building blocks pit. Our personal favorites? A grocery store station with a cashier; and a restaurant complete with a kitchen and small shinkansen train that delivers food out for tots who want to run the restaurant. If you want to take a snack break, all you need to do is go outside to the real restaurant and order from the iPad, only this time, a real-life shinkansen train comes out bringing real food. The food is surprisingly delicious and offers a wide variety of menu items like Chinese, Japanese and Italian favorites like pizza.
If you have a child who doesn’t like or is too old for playgrounds, there’s even an arcade to play in. Little Boss Play and Eat truly has something for everyone. It’s the perfect place for a weekend planned for toddlers, adolescents and adults who can mingle in one place. The toddlers in the playground, the mums in the cafes and the adolescents in the arcade. When you’re all done, it’s time to head home where you’re most likely to get nap times settled since your toddler will be so tired, he will fall asleep in the car.
