In this month's edition of Hot New Tables: Crumble Crew, Hawker Chan, Bijin Nabe, Yawara, and Wolterhouse
Want to hang out with your whole crew but can’t agree on where to eat? Crumble Crew is a multi-eatery space that houses an array of micro-cafes under a shared roof. Food options are varied – if you’re in the mood for local Indonesian food, order up a bowl of Mie Ayam from Mangan Mangan. Want something healthy to kick-start your morning? Grab a smoothie bowl from Nalu Bowls (our go-to is the J-Bay). For a jolt of java, hit up Cyclo Coffee where a cup of coffee is pay as you please. For something hearty, melted sandwich shop Cheese Me Up has just joined the line-up of cafes here. And that’s just the first line-up, with more cafes to come, there’s something for everyone here.

Brace yourselves chicken rice fans – Michelin-starred Hawker Chan has landed in Pantai Indah Kapuk. The Hong Kong-style soy chicken and rice joint shot to fame as the first hawker stall to receive a Michelin star in Singapore, and lucky for us ,they’ve decided to open their kitchens to serve the Big Durian as well. As the world’s cheapest Michelin-starred meal, one plate of their chicken rice will set you back a mere IDR 28,000!

Bijin Nabe by Tsukada Nojo
Ever heard of the famous beauty hot pot by Tsukada Nojo? Bijin Nabe, or collagen hot pot, is a silky pudding-like dish – the result of dissolving chicken bones for 8-hours – that is melted into a lustrous hot broth tableside. Diners have a choice of Original, Spicy, Seafood, Sukiyaki or Shabu-Shabu and can dunk vegetables and an array of meats. It can take up to two hours to get a seat at the original Bijin Nabe in Singapore, so reservations here are highly recommended.

Intimate and minimal, Yawara is a private dining spot serving in Japanese-Korean cuisine. If you love beautifully marbled melt-in-your-mouth wagyu, this is the place to go. Besides grilled meats, Yawara also serves sushi and noodle bowls. The small restaurant is only open for two seatings: lunch and dinner, so you best make a reservation before you pop in.

Tucked atop the third floor of Kambing Cairo, WolterHouse is a cosy café that quickly earned buzz on the street for their famous Manhattan Iced Coffee and Nutella Doughnut. As a communal space, the café also has a private room available for hire should you need a quick break from your desk space.
