New year is all about something new, and that includes new restaurants for you to try! Blue Terrace

If healthy eating is one of your resolutions this year, you should definitely put Blue Terrace on your go-to list. The newest dining spot at Ayana Midplaza Jakarta, the restaurant combines the concept of nature, healthy and style through their selection of healthy food and exotic Asian spices. At Blue Terrace, you can dine amongst the relaxed garden setting and enjoy signature specialties like the Baby Gems Wraps, Green Goddess Bowl with avocado and quail eggs, and Salmon with Mushroom.
Blue Terrace, Ayana Midplaza Jakarta, Jl. Jendral Sudirman Kav. 10-11, Central Jakarta, p. +62 21 251 0888.

Mother Monster

Characterised with playful interiors and colours, Mother Monster will catch your eye in an instant. Different colours dominate each section of the restaurant: the front coffee area is decked out in grey, the indoor area is decorated in pink hues, while the outdoor area is dominated by dark green. Mother Monster, which is the brainchild of Common Grounds and Biko Group, serves Western comfort food with specialties such as the Monster Chicken Skin, Monster Double Decker, Oink in the Bun, and the steaks. Their tipples are also something you should try here. The favourites include the Chocolate Mar-three-ni and the insta-worthy Pleasure Garden that comes inside a hanging teardrop-shaped glass.
Mother Monster, Plaza Indonesia, 1st Floor, Central Jakarta, p. +62 21 2992 1939.

Okuzono Japanese Dining

Searching for an authentic Japanese restaurant? Get excited because you’ll find it at Okuzono Japanese Dining! Recently opened in Senopati, Okuzono will transport you to Japan as soon as you step into the room, where you can find bamboo trees, an open-air zen garden, a tatami area, a Japanese bar and their signature mezzanine box seats, where you can dine in an intimate setting while still getting a full view of the open kitchen. Don’t forget to try their signature Masu Sushi – Trio Sets, which comes in three wooden boxes of different dishes like Maguro, Kanpachi and Ikura.
Okuzono Japanese Dining, Jl. Suryo No. 1, South Jakarta, p. +62 21 2793 3565.

Hotel Monopoli

The latest child of Syah Establishment who’s also behind The Gunawarman is Hotel Monopoli, a new luxury boutique hotel in Kemang. If The Gunawarman has Sofia, Hotel Monopoli also has their own restaurant at the lobby. Upon entering this all-day eatery, you’ll instantly feel the vibe of a modern diner slash a gourmet marketplace, where you can find a deli, a juice bar, a wine bar, a semi open kitchen and a central coffee counter. The favourite dishes are Fried Chicken Sandwich, Pan-Seared Salmon and Ricotta Hotcakes, while the recommended drinks include the Dragon Ballz Mocktail and Iced Cereal Milk Latte.
Hotel Monopoli, Jl. Taman Kemang No. 12, South Jakarta, p. +62 821 1110 0336.

Beer Hall

Situated inside a spacious all-indoor setting at SCBD, Beer Hall celebrates the drinking culture by becoming the first beer hall in Southeast Asia. With a great selection of beers from both Indonesia and other regions across the world, you can enjoy bottomless beer that is available on tap and by bottle. Of course, you can also choose from their other list of cocktails, spirit and liqueur, wine and other non-alcoholic drinks, and if you’re coming for either some small bites or a big dinner, you can get their “beer food” like the Super Nachos and Crispy Chicken Skin, or Indonesian comfort food and wood fire pizza as mains.
Beer Hall, Lot 19 SCBD, Jl. Jendral Sudirman Kav. 52-53, South Jakarta, p. +62 812 9619 9489.

Born in Jakarta, Jessica spent her university days in Sydney, where she discovered her love for writing, café-hopping and road tripping. Truly a child of the tropics, she prefers summer over winter and is always on the hunt for a new beach getaway destination. In her spare time, she can be found spending too many hours on Pinterest in search of her next DIY project ideas, or simply munching on whatever’s on the table and getting lost in her own imagination.
