But maintaining a healthy diet can get tricky, especially when we\u2019re always on the go. Nutrition Kitchen makes it all easy and hassle-free with their healthy meal plans delivered straight to your door. I tried the vegetarian meal plan for a week and here\u2019s what I think.<\/p>\n<h2>An honest review of Nutrition Kitchen<\/h2>\n<h3>First of all, a little bit about Nutrition Kitchen.<\/h3>\n<p>There are three different meal plans you can choose from; regular, flexitarian, and vegetarian. Nutrition Kitchen offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner and you need to pick at least two meals a day for a plan. Each package further breaks down into how much carbs and protein you want in your meals. The boxes are all delivered at once every morning and they have to be reheated before consuming.<\/p>\n<p>The three different meal plans include; one week, two weeks, or four weeks. My worst meal of the day is breakfast, where I put minimal effort \u2013 some days it\u2019s literally just coffee. And, well, most days, it\u2019s cereal with Greek yoghurt (this is me putting in \u201ceffort\u201d) and coffee. I was stuffed but not in a bad way, I felt quite energised to get some work done. The vegetable paella with artichokes (don\u2019t suppose I\u2019ve had artichokes before) was fragrant and filling. I brought my Beyond Beef moussaka to work and realised how convenient it was to not scroll endlessly on food delivery apps or go to restaurants during lunch hours only to find them all full. As for dinner, the cha ca la vong tofu alone may not have been enough, but you can bet I was pretty darn happy to find pickled veggies and vermicelli noodles underneath!<\/p>\n<h3>Day 3 \u2013 vindaloo or biryani? Lunch came with vegetable buffalo style patties \u2013 which I enjoyed \u2013 but I did wish the broccoli and cauliflowers were more seasoned. Perhaps, I was just too used to stir-fried vegetables (you can\u2019t blame me, folks!).<\/p>\n<p>And then my Indian side was slightly confused with my dinner \u2013 vindaloo on top of biryani? With steamed okra on the side? That\u2019s new! The rice portion was rather small and I just wished it had a spicy kick as vindaloos have me sipping water after each bite (usually). But I\u2019m not here to be a food critic. However, lunch (OmniPork meatballs with mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, and braised cabbage) and dinner (white bean cassoulet with beyond sausage) were underwhelming. It was amazing to notice the difference of having a filling breakfast, I didn\u2019t snack before lunch! So yes, I sat and wrote another mental note to myself to actually make breakfast every day (I\u2019ll let you know when that happens). And I couldn\u2019t help but smile seeing falafel and hummus in the buddha bowl for lunch (I was one happy gal that day!). The penne primavera for dinner was delicious and it felt like forever since I had pasta (okay, I\u2019m exaggerating) but my meal plan definitely ended with a bang!<\/p>\n<h3>My final thoughts<\/h3>\n<p>I realised the importance of having a hearty and healthy breakie in the morning. After my meal plan ended, I missed having a proper breakfast every morning. I am back to my morning coffee and I am not proud of it. But there\u2019s no option of buying just breakfast so I\u2019m on my own now for a morning frittata.<\/p>\n<p>I have a rather small appetite so the portion size wasn\u2019t an issue for me, but I will say it may not be enough for a lot of people out there. And for someone whose dinner was always the heaviest meal, adjusting to a much smaller portion was a little tricky (I got hungry around midnight!).<\/p>\n<p>In terms of taste, some dishes were hit and miss, but mostly they tasted pretty good (and they all definitely all smell good!). The meals all use less salt than what I\u2019m used to but it grows on you quickly. I do wish some of the vegetables were cooked in more unique ways to offer more variety in the vegetarian meals, instead of most of them being braised, boiled, or steamed.<\/p>\n<h3>Is it worth it?<\/h3>\n<p>And of course, it all comes down to one question, is it worth it? I would say if you\u2019re the type who gets takeaway meals or dines out almost every meal of the day, it\u2019s more worthwhile to spend your money on Nutrition Kitchen than elsewhere. You don\u2019t have to line up or wait for your meal, you simply reheat it. As for myself, I have home cooked meals every day (thanks, mum!), but trying Nutrition Kitchen was a reminder to be mindful of healthy portions and ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>Have you tried Nutrition Kitchen?
