So there is more open room for kite flying and fewer chances of getting tangled on a tree! The expansive grass lawn is great for kids to run around and burn off some energy while chasing after their kites. Plus, there\u2019s plenty more to do in the park; explore their insect house, herb garden, and the model boat pool. Tap Mun, also known as Grass Island, is a windy wonderland for flying kites \u2013 with some friendly cows wandering around your picnic mats looking for a nibble. It comes as no surprise that Tai Mei Tuk is crowded during holidays, so stopping your bike mid-way to fly your kite could be inconvenient to others. Cycle your way to the far end of the two kilometre route and there\u2019s plenty of space to let loose (your kite and yourself!).<\/p>\n<h3>4. Nai Chung Pebbles Beach during low tide is a tranquil beach (even minus the sand) with gentle gusts of wind that\u2019ll have your kites flying high in no time. There are locally owned shops by the village to purchase a kite if you don\u2019t already have one. Beach go-ers are also fond of collecting the abundant seashells that wash ashore.<\/p>\n<h3>5. This is particularly a nice spot for Hong Kong Island-side kite enthusiasts to have a fun day out. If you don\u2019t already have a kite of your own, there are kiosks in the beachside village selling paper ones that are easy to get up in the air. This grassy slope in Clearwater Bay Country Park also has a great view of the water, making it the perfect place for a serene day of leisure. While some may bring their own prized kites over to fly, there are also kiosks in the area that sell paper kites for the more casual hobbyists.
