Seeing Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightfoottravel.com\/en\/south-america\/colombia\/cartagena#utm_source=Honeycombers&amp;utm_medium=Online&amp;utm_campaign=Travel_Movies\" rel=\"nofollow\">Cartagena<\/a>, with him holding on to a crocodiles\u2019 tail from the ramparts of a fort, I knew I had to visit this hot, humid and exciting city. Once I finally did, I realised that part of the movie was filmed in San Juan in Puerto Rico&#8230;.oh the disappointment! But it was short lived. Cartagena is my favourite city in the region, with the influence of the Caribbean being felt in the people, climate and cuisine. A real melting pot of a place which rounds off any trip to South America.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Nikki Pang: Lost in Translation<\/h3>\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"Lost in Translation Official Trailer #1 - Bill Murray Movie (2003) HD\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/W6iVPCRflQM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>\u201cBill Murray, Scarlett Johansson and a dire dose of jetlag make <em>Lost in Translation<\/em> my ultimate travel movie. There\u2019s something so whimsical yet gritty about how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightfoottravel.com\/en\/asia\/japan\/tokyo#utm_source=Honeycombers&amp;utm_medium=Online&amp;utm_campaign=Travel_Movies\" rel=\"nofollow\">Tokyo<\/a> is portrayed. So much takes place inside the now iconic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightfoottravel.com\/en\/asia\/japan\/tokyo\/park-hyatt-tokyo#utm_source=Honeycombers&amp;utm_medium=Online&amp;utm_campaign=Travel_Movies\" rel=\"nofollow\">Park Hyatt Tokyo<\/a> but the glimpses we get of the city and its inhabitants are fascinating. From the serene Joganji temple to the frenetic neon lights of Shinjuku and the scramble of people and traffic outside Shibuya train station, this film can\u2019t help but pique your curiosity about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightfoottravel.com\/en\/asia\/japan#utm_source=Honeycombers&amp;utm_medium=Online&amp;utm_campaign=Travel_Movies\" rel=\"nofollow\">Japan<\/a>. It also inspires you to try karaoke!\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Nico Heath: Lord of the Rings<\/h3>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Y5wATq0X-9I<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI first read <em>Lord of the Rings<\/em> when I was about eight-years-old at school and have read it many times since. When you watch the movie though, you become completely absorbed by the scenery of Middle Earth in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightfoottravel.com\/en\/australasia\/new-zealand#utm_source=Honeycombers&amp;utm_medium=Online&amp;utm_campaign=Travel_Movies\" rel=\"nofollow\">New Zealand<\/a>. Watching it\u00a0 made me want to go to New Zealand and to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightfoottravel.com\/en\/australasia\/new-zealand\/queenstown-milford-sound-southern-lakes#utm_source=Honeycombers&amp;utm_medium=Online&amp;utm_campaign=Travel_Movies\" rel=\"nofollow\">Queenstown<\/a> especially. In actual fact, the scenery is more breathtaking in real life.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Lucy Jackson: The Talented Mr. Ripley<\/h3>\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) Trailer #1 | Movieclips Classic Trailers\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/h4e-Si4oGEw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWitness the Italian coast at its finest with incredible scenery, and an amazing wardrobe. Visually, it\u2019s an absolute treat: the villa where Dickie (Jude Law) turns out to have ensconced himself; the courtyard outside Marge\u2019s (Gwyneth Paltrow) place, and the St Regis Hotel in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightfoottravel.com\/en\/europe\/italy\/rome#utm_source=Honeycombers&amp;utm_medium=Online&amp;utm_campaign=Travel_Movies\" rel=\"nofollow\"> Rome<\/a> where Tom Ripley (Matt Damon) checks in. The 1950s backdrop is super-romantic with vespa rides around the cobbled streets and grandiose buildings as a backdrop to this psychological thriller. <em>The Talented Mr. Ripley <\/em>is one of the best films to come out of the 90s, and the reason I picked Italy for my own honeymoon!\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Diana Fung: Eat, Pray, Love<\/h3>\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"Watch the Official EAT PRAY LOVE Trailer in HD\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mjay5vgIwt4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>\u201c<em>Eat, Pray, Love<\/em> is such a classic odyssey of a woman searching for the meaning of life. During this eight-month journey prior to finishing his medical studies, he witnesses the disparity across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightfoottravel.com\/en\/south-america#utm_source=Honeycombers&amp;utm_medium=Online&amp;utm_campaign=Travel_Movies\" rel=\"nofollow\">South America<\/a> and what starts as a real adventure becomes a mission of self-discovery. As he travels, you\u2019re taken through mountains, deserts, waterfalls, and wild, remote areas, but it\u2019s the movie&#8217;s feeling of freshness and possibility &#8211; and the fact that travel changes you more than you think &#8211; that also stays with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Jo Upcraft: Sideways<\/h3>\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"Sideways - Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Pqbz8yojxBY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>\u201c<em>Sideways<\/em> is a charming film that transports you to the rolling hills of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightfoottravel.com\/en\/north-america\/united-states\/california#utm_source=Honeycombers&amp;utm_medium=Online&amp;utm_campaign=Travel_Movies\" rel=\"nofollow\">California\u2019s<\/a> wine country, and it not only makes you want to hit the road in a convertible, but also crack open a bottle of red. As the two main characters, Miles and Jack, wind their way through the Santa Ynez Valley grape-growing region, we learn about their friendship and their diminishing hopes and dreams. It\u2019s thought-provoking, funny and slightly melancholy, but mostly this film invites you to sit back and take stock of life with a fine pinot noir in hand (which is essentially what I think all the best holidays should do).\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Matt Vlemiks: The Godfather<\/h3>\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"the godfather best scene\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/i96VS_z8y7g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>\u201cDespite the subject matter, <em>The Godfather<\/em> has been a massive pull for tourism in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightfoottravel.com\/en\/europe\/italy\/sicily#utm_source=Honeycombers&amp;utm_medium=Online&amp;utm_campaign=Travel_Movies\" rel=\"nofollow\">Sicily<\/a> for close to 40 years. While most of the action takes place in America, Al Pacino\u2019s exile in Sicily &#8211; when he visits the village of Corleone, falls in love and generally keeps a low profile &#8211; is the most scenic and cinematic in the film. A long-time favourite film of mine, today Lightfoot Travel can organise <em>The Godfather<\/em> themed guided tours of Sicily for avid fans.
